Just got this in my INBOX.

Thank you to everyone who sent this one along. Sounds like things are going to get interesting over the next few weeks. :)

Well... If I was a betting man, I'd say they're making room for more local HD
Don't know my 129 that well. But TP21 on 61.5 is currently in conus mode and could potentially be switched to spotbeam mode. TP21 can go on spotbeams 2, 4, 7, 11, 15, 17, 19, 20, and 22.

Yea. I wonder if they will be trading Conus for Spots or Conus for Conus??
Me hopes for second. Unless they want fire up my CW of course.:)

they better take care of the bandwidth problems for RSN-HD games. I am sick of missing Brewers games in HD, especially tomorrow night!!!!!!!!!

Indeed. With RSNs like FOX committing to going 100% HD over the course of the year, I really hope Dish is planning the channel capacity to keep up.

So if I'm interpreting this correctly - the channels on TP 21 of 61.5 will be the same as the ones transferring from 129 to 110?

Or else what happens to those with 61.5/110/119 setups?

i have 110, 119 on one dish and 61.5 as a second dish so will i just get those channels that are moving from 110 now?

Nothing, you will get the one HD transponder from 110 instead of 61.5, all of the other HD on 61.5 will still come from 61.5. :)

Well, they are not moving anything off 61.5 just yet (need to load those channels on 72.7 or 77 first for eastern arc-ers).

129 has only one switchable TP (at least for the US, there is a Canadian beam that probably will never be used), namely TP17.

Moving channels to E11 at 110 enables them to provide the HD to AK, HI, and PR without using spotbeam space. Given recent changes in those packs, I bet this is the big reason.

Also, now maybe they can use another 129 TP for part time RSNs.

I really hope they won't start offering full time RSNs until they find homes for AMC, IFC, TCM, HLN, ESPNU, E!, G4, Hallmark, and Outdoor.

That's CONUS only on 129. On 61.5 the highest beam number used is 17, 129 picks up the rest of the west coast beams that 61.5 doesn't need to use.

I'm still curious how these channels are going to look packing all that into one transponder. Not mention how are they going to look on 77 since 77 doesn't run 8PSK, their transponders are 30 megabit instead of 40.

I agree. Fulltime RSNs are unnecessary so long as the important games are broadcast which they seem to be.
