I think I got it. Either way it will work in my house I'm just curious about customers who do not have internet. Will they be able to have the Hopper working in their homes?

you're talking about the Hopper Internet Connector which seems to have wifi listed... right?
The Hopper itself doesn't have wifi according to the spec sheets. All i see is ethernet on the Hopper spec sheets.
(Hopper Internet Connector used to be called the XIP MoCA Bridge in the information from last year.)
Now that you mention it, neither do I! It wasn't in these new PDFs as you pointed out, but I thought I remembered a wiring diagram in one of the photo dumps which of course I can't find right now. So... What will that Joey Ethernet port be good for? Nothing?

I guess I'll have to look into the Hopper. On that note, if you are using a tuner for the prime time feature, will we be able to use that same tuner and watch any of the 4 or 5 channels it is recording, or does that eliminate the use of that tuner while recording using the prime time feature?I'd like to hope one can use ethernet instead of the MOCA for connection between hopper and joey.
Looking at the wiring diagrams, the setup seems pretty simple but I'm curious to know about setups that currently use a video switch. I'm using a 1000+ with the DPP44. If/When I upgrade to the hopper/joey system, will I still be using the DPP44 and if so, how will it work under the new setup?
You will still use a switch if you have one.
Well, since I already have a DPP44 nailed onto the bricks of my house so I guess it's safe to assume that I would have a Solo node nailed on right next to it.
Certainly sounds like one heck of a system so these questions are not meant to sound negative!

You will be able to use a USB OTA Tuner sometime after the Hopper is released.
No manual timer but something they ARE working on.
And yes if the Hopper dies then you are without TV until you get a replacement. But thats the norm with any multi room DVR system
