DISH loses local ABC affiliate in retransmission dispute

I just wouldn’t expect them to be a part of the ATVA. Like I said, it shocked me. What is their benefit to be a part of that group.
 
Well, maybe as consumers get sick and tired of the constant blackouts, that leads to more people cutting the cord. In turn, that means fewer people watching the Discovery channels, since they no longer get them as part of a cable channel bundle. Since, as far as I know, Discovery is not really contributing to causing the blackout problem, it makes sense to me that they would be on the side that is against blackouts.
