Can you find 16 things worth recording at the same time in this world of constant repeats and kardashian type crap that’s on tv?

If you watch four on MultiView, record a show or three and have several Joeys busy watching and or recording then those 16 tuners come in handy.

I can't think of a single hour in the last year that there was even 10 things worth watching or recording. But for bragging rights, 16 tuners is high on the list!! :)

I have 10 minutes end late time set in my timer default setting so we don't miss any program endings that get cut short. Sometimes, I have lots of scheduled program timers overlap. Sixteen tuners has come in pretty handy for me.

I doubt that I ever need all 16 tuners. I actually used them all a few times just to see if it worked and it did on those occasions. What I do like is the fact that I never, ever, have to think about conflicts for watching and recording. Marvelous technology!
The most I have ever used was 11 timers at the same time. The OTA timer conflicts is driving me crazy since I cancelled the DISH Sat OTA locals. Hopper 3 has got me really spoiled. :(

Dish seriously needs a quad tuner dongle, or else the ability to use two dual dongles on one H3.
Yep, that would be nice to have four OTA tuners capability. Now that we have CBS back in the St Louis DMA I might bring back the DISH Sat locals. We miss PTAT. With DISH Sat locals next day AutoHop is still available for NBC and ABC. I wonder in the PTAT setting if CBS and FOX were not enabled and set manual OTA timers if next day AutoHop would work for CBS and FOX!

Well...I like old movies and TV shows, one roommate likes Kardashian-type crap, another is a total anything zombie-related nut and also likes to watch the news and our last roommate likes cooking shows.

So in answer to your question... YES

Dude, we all get our jobs FROM Dish and the entire country is at least 10 days out. Our Columbus, OH office is booked out almost a month
I'm in eastern NC and couldn't get an appointment until Sept. 28. Port 1 not working on the Hopper 3. The same issue last year after Florence.
I do have the locals and other channels but most of the upper channels have no signal. Dish is crediting my account for the time without them. I have the 250+ pkg.
Since yesterday the guide was stuck on Friday at 2pm, tried everything and then some. Called Dish and the tech said there wasn't anything he could do.
It was probably updated to the 13th and the signal issue won't allow to go any further.
He was able to get me an appointment two days earlier and to call back every few days and see if anthing opens up.
I went on My Dish Anywhere and set it to record 48 hrs tonight and now the guide is back on the Hopper. Magic, I don't know.
Just checked and it only goes to Monday the 16th at 11:30pm. It has been glitchy since Dorian, so we'll see.

Call your local retailer if you have a good one. We usually get to service calls either same day or within a day or two. :)

Yeah just not for free unless you bought the system from them and are still in warranty.

Have someone who needs a service call, call you. Quote them $75 to come out the same day.

They would rather call Dish, complain and wait a week for them to send out a tech for free.

This is how I deal with Dish customers....

Cust: Hi my dish doesn’t work

Me: it’s $100 to send someone out, or we could switch you to Directv for free.

Cust: I don’t want to switch.

Me: The service call is $100, or you can call Dish and see if they will send someone out for free. Their number is 800-333-Dish.

Cust: I have been a customer for a long time. They will send someone out.

Me: ok, let me know if they don’t want to help you out and we can switch you to Directv.

2 Hours later....

Customer: F***K Dish, when can you install Directv.

Me: what happened

Cust: They kept me on hold for an hour and refuse to send someone out.

Me: I’m sorry to hear that :). When would you like to get rid of Dish and get Directv installed.

HipKat, I disagree. I think ATT PLANS for DTV to be gone in a very few years.

Sent from my iPhone using SatelliteGuys App. For now.
That's my thinking, too. Other than the possible streaming option, which will cut out a lot of DTV subs. Or rural residents getting 5G from Dish to Stream DTV - now THAT I can live with lol

Claude, I don't want you to think I don't respect you, because I do. I know you've been in this game a long time and your roots in this industry go deep. However, I don't have any respect for constantly coming into a hornet's nest with a stick and poking the hive, but I do acknowledge your persistence and willingness to (annoyingly) hang in there.

With that said, outside of channel disputes and the NFL Ticket, DTV has nothing that tops Dish. Not one thing, The Dish's fail in weather faster. The hardware isn't even close. The Software isn't close. The options pale in comparison. DTV's VOD is a joke. The billing is extortionist and the customer service is horrible.

When I hear the phrase 'Best in Class Service", I take it seriously. I make every job the best job I can do. I never worry about the next job until I finish the one I'm on, ever. My company's Mission Statement reads, "Mission Statement: GalaxyOne Marketing was founded to provide exceptional customer service in satellite and home entertainment through professional commitment to each and every customer." and I adhere to that every day.

Intentionally setting someone up with a substandard POS service is predatory at best and not something I would ever abide by - and you can ask about the number of Hughesnet jobs I've downed because the customer wanted to stream and game with it and the Sales people - who ask those questions - put the sale ahead of the customer's needs.

That's how I roll!

I watch HBO. I stream it through Amazon Prime - which is coming to the Hopper. And I'm a HUGE Sports fan. But I'm also a huge fan of not giving in to extortionist practices by the content providers. As for why it's only Dish that doesn't carry HBO, let's see, WHo owns HBO? And who owns DTV? Who is DTV's direct competition? Hmmmm, I wonder......
When is Amazon Prime coming to the Hopper?
