Yep. I've become a convert. Why do it this way?
1. Less water, cooks quicker.
2. Peels easier.

Came across it online.

-Put a steamer basket in a pot, fill to bottom of steamer basket.
-Bring to full boil.
-Place eggs in basket straight from refrigerator.
-Lower to simmer.
-Wait 11-12 minutes.
-Place all eggs in ice bath for 15 minutes.
-Tap shell on all sides to crack thoroughly. No need to roll.

I've tried it, and the shells really do come off easier, the whites are less rubbery and the dimple at the end is greatly reduced (better for making deviled eggs).

TRY it, you'll LIKE it!

May have to try this, I tried baking them this past Easter and they were pretty good. Boiling is for the birds lol.

I should have made clear: COVER the pot during the process. Will try to edit the original post. (Too late)

My fiancee found a little egg steamer pod at Kohl's. It makes great hard-boiled (style?) eggs, with options for soft-boiled and poached. Easy as heck and makes 6 or so at once.

Steaming eggs is WAAAYYY better than boiling them. However, I have a hard time doing that when I can buy two dozen, already cooked and peeled, at Costco for $5.
