Have had really bad picture judder or studder or whatever you call it. It is on the ESPN channels mostly during live games. I had my friends DISH tailgater over and hooked it up to make sure it wasn’t my tv. The DISH signal was perfectly smooth and had no glitches. We have the HR44 dvr. Could it be a software problem or bad receiver?? I’m about ready to switch providers. It is very frustrating.

I too haven't seen any issues on espn (or any other channel for that matter) ...
Only time I watch espn is when games are on.
Its happening only on ESPN ?

Q. when you changed to your buddies Dish set up, did you use the same existing cabling or run a new piece to dish set up.
Try moving the HR44 HDMI to a different input to see if it changes.

Signal strength is great. Switched hdmi ports. Haven’t changed hdmi cable yet. Also when I rewind on dvr the problem isn’t there. It’s like it’s only there in real time.

What software versions do the people seeing judder have? This was a widespread issue last year, along with random, unexplained, short pixelation. I do hope it's not coming back. I had these same problems last year, but haven't seen them since about Thanksgiving-Christmas 2017. I changed nothing (same receiver, same cabling) and I don't see it anymore. I have software 1145.

Not seeing it on my HR44/700 software 1143.

I've noticed some video issues on my Dish Hopper, so it could be from ESPN. I've got the Purdue vs. Iowa game on ESPN2 and there have been a couple of stutters in the image.

The channels where this has been reported before are all 720p. Set your DVR to native off and checkmark just 1080i/p

Already was that way. I haven't seen it this time around on ESPN. I watched several games this weekend without problems. There were a few skips during the Duke-Miami game on ESPN2 but they seemed weather related (it was a monsoon during the game). Perhaps it wasn't if the other poster saw issues with ESPN2 on Dish. There has been some juddering on NBC Sports Boston, ch 630, since this summer. It was really bad during the NBA preseason. It was frequent and included audio glitches. Others were seeing it, too, during other programming. The "other site" has a thread about it during MLS matches. I still see it on that channel during Celtics games but it is 90% better than it was. That is the only place I see it now.
