Free locals cause DVR recording problem

Actually, the problem is that the remote does not let me enter sub channels, like 6.1.

If I happen to be recording a satellite channel and try to watch a local channel, now it will not let me until I stop the recording, because it takes me to the satellite local, not the antenna local. I can stop the recording, enter channel 6, which now takes me to 6.0, then use the up arrow to get to 6.1 (antenna local), then go back to the channel I was recording, start recording again and then hit recall on the remote. But that breaks the recording and makes me miss part.

Is there a solution to this?

Subchannels can be tuned by inputting the channel number in the following format:
00Y0X. Where Y is the main channel and 0X is the subchannel.
If you just enter 00Y you always get the satellite channel. Other wise use the guide to choose the subchannel.

I know with my 722k, If I have a timer recording on tv1, if I go into the guide, scroll to my off air channel I want, select it, it tunes to that local channel with no loss of recording on tuner 1. I assume it is the same with a 211k.
