I am looking for the Value of R3, I believe it's a 47 Ohm resistor. If so, it still test good. But If you look at the pic, you will see why I would like to replace it and move it to the other side of the board. Thanks for the help.
Long Hair The below may help you. IF it's the 2 watt one by the 5 volt regulator, it's 47 ohms as you said. Personally, I'd replace it with one with longer leads, and figure out a way to mount it to a spare heat sink. Maybe use some flooded solder wick to repair the circuit board traces underneath, if they are crispy.
Correct, there should be a 47Ω resistor in line with the input of the the 5V VR. It needs to be a hefty one at that, I would go at least 2 Watt, but 5 if you have one.
