D* will also get FOXHD, ABCHD etc but in my book thats zero, I sure cant get them. I dont really care about porn PPV either. What I am interested in is the channels they will add to their HD pak and movie paks, channels that I can actually get.

I can't believe this....D* adds "1" HD channel that we already have and someone wants to call it the beginning of the fall of Voom. Give me a break. Let me know when D* stops playing catch up and adds something worth while, for all to see (referring to the ABC, CBS....etc national HD broadcasts).

The real questions are: Why is there so much Voom hate on this board? and Why do people waste time on forums geared toward a product that they don't like and/or haven't/will not purchase??

I'm not suggesting in anyway that by D* adding Bravo-HD this is the start of Voom's downfall.

I did have Voom for a little under a month. To me they have a long way to go before being a viable "superpower" if you will, in the satellite industry. I know they are an infant company though, so they will have a lot of growing pains along the way.

Have had Voom since "I Love You Day" 2004 and would not be paying 112.00 per month if I "hated" the product(hello??????)

Just thought it interesting to note that D* seems to have begun its HD expansion-When(if ever) they do reach the number of V* HD channels(excluding the mostly "ecluseless" offerings of course) will be interesting to see just how many of those V* subs who use V* as a "niche" service, will stick around.

Sorry Voom, I'm going to a provider than can give me what my OTA does at better quality. Screw you, you can't even give me unbiased 24 hour coverage of the national conventions...and now Direct TV just added the best channel of all time.. BravoHD, now they can see Cirque De Soleil 80 times a month.. NO FREAKING FAIR.

Well VOOM's parent company (Cablevision) owns Madison Square Garden. Do you actually think there will be unbiased info coming out of VOOM?

Even the announcers are so afraid to speak against Cablevision because they will get fired like Marv Albert just did.

No that would be against the FCC guidelines. You have to be in an O&O or beyond the grade B contour and have a waiver to recieve distant network feeds. I think you are thinking about HD LIL which I believe will be 30 markets in 3 years. But I think thats a very long shot.

Frankly I wish I qualified for distant feeds.... the way my affiliates are chopping down the bandwidth.

Im in NY and cant get NBCDT at all OTA...Im counting on Directv to add the ch. Right now if you look at BravoHD's programming you would have to say that it is the worst out of all the HD ch's out there. If NBC...which really doesnt have a strong commitment to HD ...draws programming in HD from the other ch's they own, they wold have a good ch. But I dont see why people would even want the ch right now. I would much rather have StarzHD.

I get CBS in my area at 19.5 mbps , sports and shows look awesome, it's what I weigh all HD by...NBC has no subchannels, ABC is at 15mbps and FOX is at 17.. I seriously doubt D* is going to match that for their HD network roll out. If you live in LA a seriously O&O heavy market you could get all your digital HD locals at a better PQ than DBS.
