HD vs SD audio = the same

Is it just me or did Dish tweak the settings between SD and HD audio? It used to be when you would watch an HD channel you would have to turn up your receiver, when listening with Dolby Digital , and then when you changed to an SD channel it would blast you out of your seat. Well now it appears that when I go from either an HD channel to an SD channel or vice versa, the audio appears to be relatively close.

and i am so glad it happened. the volume is still the same, but the aido quality is different. my sony amp has a little blue light that comes on anytime it starts putting out dolby digital. light turns off once it goes to pcm. so i know the amp is switcing modes, just nice i dont have to change the volume.

I guess I am just watching mostly HD channels and rarely switch to SD channels. Good call on Dish to fix this audio issue.
