Here and Now
Watched the first 90-minute episode last night and have mixed feelings about it. Seemed like it was mostly setting up the premise and we didn't really get to the meat of the show. Also, the tonal shifts between Holocaust survivors being murdered and quirky dark humor felt a bit off.

Yes, but Pacino even when performing minimally, is awesome. He is reason alone to watch.

Some fairly hysterical moments in ep 2. And a lot more character reveal.

What is it about?
According to Amazon...
Inspired by true events, HUNTERS follows a rag-tag team of Nazi Hunters in 1977 New York City who discover that hundreds of escaped Nazis are living in America. And so, they do what any bad-ass vigilante squad would do: they set out on a bloody quest for revenge and justice. But they soon discover a far-reaching conspiracy and must race against time to thwart the Nazis’ new genocidal plans.

I finished it, and it your are watcing JUST STOP.
You're saying you don't recommend it?

I've watched the first two episodes and see I'm not the only one finding the caricature-like portrayal of quirky murder games in the Nazi death camps problematic:

Auschwitz Memorial Criticizes Amazon for ‘Hunters’ and Sale of Nazi Propaganda
The Auschwitz Memorial said the TV show’s human chess scene at a Nazi concentration camp was a dangerous caricature that welcomed “future deniers.”

It had one of the most off the wall, bonkers endings I've ever seen. Ridiculous! It was quite obvious the show was written and run by "newbies".

Far, Far from it!
In what way? It's definitely not serious. I watched the first episode which had crazy tonal shifts throughout, it's a weird tongue in cheek portrayal of Holocaust survivors hunting Nazis. And they have a Sicilian playing a Jew, which strikes me as odd although no one seems to have a problem with it. I mean, it doesn't offend me but I'm accustomed to outrage if "white people" play act other cultures and there are plenty of Jewish actors. It's very strange show. I didn't hate it, just not sure how to process it.

Watched ep2 and kept zoning out, walking out of the room without pausing, playing on my phone. My daughter wasn't paying attention either, she kept talking to her mom about random stuff. I'm done.

I finished this last night and ended up really enjoying it. I didn't have a problem with any of the twists toward the end of the final episode. There was only one that seemed to come out of nowhere, but given the off-the-wall nature of certain aspects of the show, it wasn't totally inconsistent. It just seemed like the show was going a long way to set up a second season. Speaking of which, the show better find a worthy replacement for ...
Al Pacino's character, Meyer. I don't think Johan's character is strong or interesting enough to hold this thing together.
