I need info on new hopper plus

You can find some nice ones on eBay, 4K versions, for less about 70 bucks now that the new models have come out. You just have to make sure that they sign out of their Apple ID on the unit or else it will be a brick as Apple will not unlock it.

If you want a new 4K unit, Amazon has them for $140 bucks. Brand new, latest gen.

Thanks. I have plenty of Apple TV 4K's in the house. I just wish Dish Anywhere was available as an App on Apple TV. Right now it is not. You may have misunderstood my comments. I appreciate it
 
My in house tech is waiting for the firmware update on mine. He read through the posts and thinks the same it is a dead unit. He also said all hardware issues requires a tech visit at this point and equipment cannot be shipped.
One thing I had some of our techs try and all reported better success was using the USB 3.0 port on the Hopper 3's for the Plus.
 
Received an equipment return box out of the blue today. Spoke to a CSR (another 25 minutes of time stolen from me by Dish) and it would seem the technician has not turned in the first Hopper + he activated and then replaced during my install three weeks ago. Who is running this company? Gilligan. They are making Spectrum’s customer service start to look good. Geez!

Oh no! There goes WB Discovery's entire business model. They have been cancelling all of their DC Comics TV shows, except for a small handful of shows on the CW, and concentrating exclusively on a handful of big blockbuster movies instead.
 
Update tech has had two bad Plus units we are now swapping out the Hopper 3 then going to the third Plus. He is going to lunch
Make sure the tech turns the bad ones back in. I just received a return box from Dish today. Spent 25 minutes on hold to find out the tech still has not turned in the bad Hopper + he activated and then replaced. I will see what happens if he does not turn it in and they try to charge me for it.

We are at 6 hours the hopper 3 and Plus are up but the Joey 4's are not downloading their updates. Can you check both for what software version you are on? THANKS!

For my setup the versions are as follows: Hopper 3 = H325, Hopper + = P107, Joey 4 = P507.
I see the P107 and P507 versions, but my Hopper 3 is still at H324. The Tools menu is not giving me the option to upgrade it yet. It still says I already have the latest version.

We are reloading the firmware into the Hoppe 3 his thumb drive has 11 different software versions and they ALL go on the Hopper 3 it takes about an hour!

Mine was H324 as late as yesterday evening so the H325 update is new. The date stamp is 9/21/22 4:08AM So it is brand new. I hope it fixes some of my chronic issues.
 
I was finally able to get the Hopper + to load but it’s stuck on the start up with they google theme. Not sure how long it will keep doing that. View attachment 158544
We are at 8 hours and still going. Most of the trouble was firmware. Everything was done until your death screen showed up! We are now trying the third Plus box on the newly replaced Hopper 3 in hopes to be done.

I do agree the Hopper 3 is amazing! I also agree the Hopper Plus is not perfect. I have been with Dish sense its creation. I trust they will improve the Plus to where it will meet your expectations. By you using it and reporting problems will make that happen much faster. It really comes down to the way you are or in the near future see watching TV. You would need a Joey 4 in order to get the Google streaming platform functions from my understanding. If you don't care about that there have been numerous post stating the older Joeys do work with the Hopper +. Hopefully that helps. As an adder I would require they provide the Joey 4s to replace whatever you have now.
