Just picked up a 3900 receiver and want to add it to a DishPro system. I figured the cheapest way to make it work was by getting a DishPro adapter so I searched out Ebay and found one but the buyer is claiming " MUST BE INSTALLED BY A PROFESSIONAL!! ITEM IS VERY SENSITIVE TO VOLTAGE AND CAN BE BURNED IF INCORRECTLY INSTALLED".

What's the correct way to install this?

Thanks.

The 3900 lacks event timers and I'm not sure how much EPG it can hold. You might consider applying the cost of the adapter + whatever you can get for the 3900 to a 301 or 311 instead.

Only paid $4 for the 3900 and it's main purpose would be to bring the Sirius channels and an occasional baseball/football game into the shop so event timers and extended EPG aren't an issue.

you will be fine, obviously you can read since you are on this site. You will have no problem hooking it up. The Sioux will vanquish the Gophers anyways so don't worry about it
