Manning vs Brady

The point being no other time in the NFL has this been called!! Hell the fan in NE also new it was a Fumble!

Your wrong, it was called earlier in the year when the Patriots played the Rams in the regular season. That is why they were pretty confident it was going to be overturned. But, why let the facts get in the way of a good "the NFL is against us" Al Davis conspiracy theory.

BTW, the blow to the helmet is always called, except on that play.

It was and is still a RULE.

NFL Rule 3, Section 21, Article 2, Note 2: "When a Team A player is holding the ball to pass it forward, any intentional forward movement of his hand starts a forward pass, even if the player loses possession of the ball as he is attempting to tuck it back toward his body. Also, if the player has tucked the ball into his body and then loses possession, it is a fumble."

What about the blow to the head that caused the fumble?

Thanks - I'm going to be laughing about this one all day... Do you have that rule memorized, or just saved on your clipboard so you can pull it out anytime someone questions that call?

This goes right up there in the Pats fans' lexicon of standard answers with "the tapes were destroyed, so it must not have been a big deal..."

LMFAO I was thinking the same thing.....It may have been used before, but its so obscure that you hardly EVER see it called. I watch football every weekend and I cant even remember a game I was watching having that rule invoked since then (not saying it hasnt, I just dont remember it ever being called). The way the rule is written, it seems as though its impossible for the QB to ever fumble. Might as well start coaching QB's to just move there arm around while they are in the pocket or scrambling, that way its never a fumble its always an incomplete pass.

I know you would like to think its "always" called, but in reality like very other penalty, its called when the refs have their eyes open out there. Which happens so rarely, you wonder how calls are ever made.

Its funny how you slip that sentence in to make it sound as if the patriots were screwed on that play.... another LMFAO moment of the day!!

When you get a chance, find me somewhere where he was hit on the head on that play?? As I remember, it was a clean hit from behind and he tried to twist away and that's when the ball game loose.

Also, while you look for THAT ONE, youy said they called the "tuck rulle" in the same year? Or this year?

Raider fans have not. We got hosed and would have been in the Super Bowl 2 years in a row.....

Oh please. Raider fans should sit in the corner and be quiet after they stole the playoff game in 1976 with a phantom roughing the QB penalty which led to the win.

As for the tuck rule, the reason Pats fans know about it is because, earlier in the 2001 season the tuck rule was called in another Pats game. Thats right those "woh is me" Jets, had the rule called in their favor with Vinny Testaverde at QB.

If the rule was wrong they would have changed the rule since then to make it more specific. Guess what it wasnt because the rule was the rule.

Now in my mind I thought it was a fumble. I was cleaning off the car at my brothers and getting ready to go home. I am grateful that the officials had the stones to make the right call.

I seem to remember the rule being change two years after the fact! Then in Oakland when the Patsies came there Brady did the same thing and this time it was a FUMBLE!

Must have been patriot magic or something, cause you are right, he stinks these days!! :(

I don't think it was the Patriots - he was great last year for the Colts - but this year is definitely a different story.

Huh?

Ah...so they decided to bring this rule OUT OF NO WHERE to screw my Raiders!! I was so pissed I almost cried....LITTERALLY. I set my Raiders hat on fire in the driveway and let out this huge .."FFFFF*************KKKKKK!!!" that I am sure the satellites in the solar system heard me...! I to this day, still believe they did that to the Raiders....they as in the NFL corporate offices/the Commissioner...because Al Davis still had that lawsuit against the NFL. I had NEVER HEARD of that rule till that day....AND have never seen it used since.:mad::mad:

Performing paganistic fire rituals when your team losses is a sign of TOO much caffiene in your daily diet.:D

To Cranked:

"They won the SB against the Rams with great defense. Had the Rams scored as many points as they were all year, I am sorry, but Brady and the boys werent going to keep up."

RESPONSE: THE PATS TOOK A NICE LEAD IN THAT GAME AND WENT CONSERVATIVE. THE RAMS TIED WITH A MINUTE LEFT AND BRADY TOOK THE PATS DOWN FOR A SCORE. EXCUSE ME, BUT THE NINERS BEAT THE BENGALS IN TWO LOW SCORING SUPER BOWLS. ONE WAS A LAST MINUTE COMEBACK. IT DOESN'T TAINT JOE MONTANA THAT THE NINERS HAD A GREAT DEFENSE.

The other two were won in close games where Brady led them very well to great victories. I must say the score of the panthers game was very suprising. I remember going into that game thinking it would be a great defensive battle. The philly game was just great all around.

THE PANTERS WAS A HIGH SCORING GAME. BRADY KEPT UP.

And as for this year, you can attribute so much of what they are doing to moss and welker (not to mention there offensive line play). I dont want this to sound the wrong way so dont jump on me like im a brady hater or something, but with that supporting cast I can think of a few QB's in todays day and age alone that would put up those numbers.
p.s. there numbers have a lot to do with running up the score late in the game and going for it on 4th down whenever it comes to that. Not to mention the fact that the rarely run the ball, especially on the goal line.

A LOT OF ALL TIME GREAT QB'S HAVE HAD GREAT CASTS, MONTANA, MARINO, MANNING. SO FAR, BRADY'S NUMBERS ARE UNPRECEDENTED. I SAW EVERY GAME MARINO PLAYED IN 1984 AND MOST GAMES IN HIS CAREER.

THE PATS RARELY RUN THE BALL BECAUSE THEY DOMINATE WITH THE PASS LIKE MIAI DID WITH THE RUN IN THEIR SUPER BOWL YEARS (11 PASSES IN SB VII AND 8 IN SB VIII). THE PATS DO NOT NEED TO RUN BECAUSE THEIR PASSING ATTACK IS THAT GREAT. THEY ARE BREAKING A LOT OF ADAGES ABOUT NEEDING A GREAT RUNNING GAME.

MY ADMIRATION FOR NEW ENGLAND AND BRADY IS THAT I HAVE ONLY SEEN THEIR "LOOK" ON ONE OTHER TEAM. BY THAT, I MEAN THE DEMEANOR TO BE CONSISTENTLY DOMINANT, AND, IF NOT, TO PERSEVERE AND STILL WIN. THE COLTS GAME WAS SCARILY REMINISCENT OF THE MIAMI-MINNESOTA GAME IN 1972.

I WANT TO MAKE MYSELF CLEAR: I AM A DOLPHINS FAN AND I HOPE THEY DO NOT GO UNBEATEN. BUT THE PATS HAVE THE BEST CHANCE OF ANY TEAM I HAVE SEEN-- INCLUDING THE 15-1 NINERS AND BEARS TEAMS.
