MLB 2013-2014 off-season moves

Vlad's "strike zone" was between his nose and his small toe and 4 feet wide either direction.

I once saw him hit an HR that bounced off the plate during batting practice.
For a kid who had to borrow shoes to go to an Expos try out... he did quite well.

Cheers, K

They just traded for a 2nd baseman.

Possibly trying to drive the price up for the yankees ?

Doubt that they would take the bait, seeing everyone knows Kinsler just got in Detroit.

IF and thats a BIG IF, Cano would come to Detroit, they would be saying good bye to the cash they just saved ...

The article mentioned IF, Cano at 2b, Kinsler to LF .... :popcorn

Tigers don't really need Cano though .

Peralta to sign with the Cards.

I figured he might, they been looking for a SS for awhile now.

Peralta won't make the spectacular play, but he's very reliable.

He's due for a down to his normal BA year though, .260 ish ... his history is strong BA one year and not the next.

Dodgers signed Dan Haren to a 1 year $10 mil contract.

Looks like the Tigers have a new and legit closer in Brian Wilson.

Even though Prince didn't perform as well as past seasons, he still put up better numbers than Kinsler. Who's going to bat cleanup and protect Cabrera. Now Miggy will seldom see pitches to hit.

You're not giving Kinsler much credit there, are ya?

I guess $30M when he's owed 168, isn't too bad.

Like I said, this will free up cash for the Tigers to resign Scherzer and probably Cabrera as well ... been seeing comments from Cabrera that he would be interested in signing an extension lately.

Hmm. So the Tigers are paying Fielder $30 million to play AGAINST them..
Something tells me there are people in the Tiger's front office that have decided Fielder is done putting up the numbers for which he is being paid.
