PTC Change/Sat move

  • The
Oooh, I have questions for you my dude..

1) The Locals that had the SD channels removed, if their receiver won't get sat 129, will they need an arc flip to get 61.5 (if available).

2) For the peeps in PR/VI...the channels that were removed, (Paramount is the one I'm worried about the most)...those channels are just 'gone' for now", or do you mean just the SD versions?

3) The channel changes in Zanesville...by channel change, do you mean it'll have a diff number in the guide?

Thanks for any info you can give me. My brain isn't braining this week....

Can't speak for PR but VI has Paramount in HD only.. Don't remember if there was ever a SD. Question though regarding channels in PR--what is the status of a couple channels called fanduel which are supposed to be on channels 398, 399. Assuming they were on 129 and removed because of the change over.. Any idea of ETA if at all of them returning? Josh if your looking any info as well? Thanks

You are correct. Paramount's SD channel was removed on 5/10/2023, and now there is only the HD channel on 119, TP 18. Both FanDuel racing channels are on 129, TP 23, and my understanding is that they will be moving to 110 or 119 in the near future. Hopefully Josh or someone else has a more definitive date. The other 2 channels on that same transponder are BuyTV and World Fishing Network, and my guess is that all 4 will move to 110 or 119 at the same time. (the SD version of PAC12 network is also there but I don't see that moving back to 110 or 119)

I have no solid date, but to my understanding everything that was shifted to 129 will be shifted back to 110 eventually. Those are both MPEG-4 SD services so they should be moved back. My guess would be late June at this point - if I remember to check for these in a couple of weeks there should be a date.

So funny seeing that email pasted here...definitely not intended for this audience and it won't make sense to 99% of people. But let me know if you have questions! I used to be the one to write up those changes weekly :)

We could tell you, but then we’d have to take you out fishing on a lake in a small boat with a big fat guy behind you.
