Hi all,

Helping some (older) relatives upgrade to another HDTV. Currently in the house there are 3 HDTV's and 2 SDTV's. They currently have a 722, 222k, and 211k.

Would like to upgrade the 4th TV to HD with least impact on monthly costs. Looking at the Hopper but that seems to be more expensive each month. The extra features of the Hopper won't really matter to them - htey use the DVR only occasionally. Trying to figure out the pricing for each option - can anyone clarify the following?

Current setup:
722 - Primary receiver - $0
222k - $14
211k - $7
DVR Service - $7
>>Total on top of programming = $28

If they were to go with Hopper/Joey system:
Hopper - Primary receiver - $0
Super Joey - $10
3x Joey - $21
DVR Service $12
>>Total on top of programming - $43

Option #1: Replace the 222k with two 211k's - same price as current setup.

Option $2: Replace the 722 with 612 and 211, designate 222k as primary receiver.
222k - Primary receiver - $0
2x 211k - $14
612 - $10 (is this correct? Can't find much info on it)
>>Total on top of programming - $31

Option #2 would give the extra tuner on the DVR for recording shows, which could be beneficial. But doubt they'll actually use it, so Option #1 is most cost effective.

Does this sound right?

Thanks!

Option 2 is missing the $7 DVR service fee.

The Super Joey would make for 5 TVs. And you said they don't DVR much. If all four TVs are not watched at the same time

He did not list it, but it's in his total.

Hardly ever watch 5 TV's at a time. Usually 3 at most. But they need to maintain independent programming on each TV - it's not a predictable combination of which TV's will be used.

There's not really a way to have more TV's on fewer tuners easily is there?

Can a Hopper support 3 regular Jowy's plus a Super Joey? I thought there was a max of 3 Joeys.

Dish lets me order this system if I go through the new customer order process on their site. Although 2 Joeys + 211k would be fine. But then, Hopper/Joey is unnecessary for them anyway.

Just realized I'm going to need to add a DPP44 too (they have a 1000.4 EA right now, and with a 4th tuner will need a 4th output.
