So, at the end of the day, can we say that the only real reason DirecTV released DirecTV Now is to reach those who (for whatever reason) can't get sat?

We know it's not for cord-cutters, and all other restrictions make conventional sat sub a reasonable deal.

I had high hopes for this new service, but am now wondering the point of it all.

I'm sure that's part of the reason but they also didn't want to lose customers to PlayStation Vue and Sling TV.
