Painting an antenna?

Most antenna elements are not bare aluminum but are coated with a clear plastic coating.

A good paint to use would be Krylon "Fusion" which has super adhesion and is made for plastics. A spray can costs about $4 at WalMart. It comes in satin colors including hunter green, black and white.

Just don't paint the insulators, although it may not hurt performance.

Unless your antenna is mounted below roof-line (which it probably should not be) you would be better to paint it to blend with the sky.

Painting it your roof color will only disguise it from "aireal" view (pun intended).
