Pansat 9200 w/ S2 8psk Addin Card

There is some S2 activity at Pansat, finally. The 9000HD has a software release which enables the S2(9000HD does not require an add-in module). Rumor is, they are planning on bringing in about 200 modules for the 9200HD and getting that function working. Don't have any time frame for that, though. It will be an extra cost item of course. Again rumor, it will cost less than the Illuminati.

That's nice. Dated yesterday. Their dish size figures are based on the fact they only have a 6' dish. Others may get better results. :)

Well, since pansat is releasing it, I'm sure it works, but since I can't find one online anywhere I can't buy one to try it. I'd sure like to know the price since from what I gather it's basically the illuminatti board minus the turbo stuff.

I'd hope it would be substantially cheaper then the other board.

At that price, it's not worth it IMO, I'd just go with the illuminatti to at least be able to catch the stuff dish FTE's.

New Pansat DVB-S2 199 + 10 shipping
Illuminatti is going for $229-$249 shipped in recent days.

According to what I've been reading, the $199 is a high price, they should go for less than that...I hope that is the case, its good Pansat is doing this, at least they are making an effort for the real fta market, and I would lilke to support them for that reason alone. I have a short attention span, I buy and sell things frequently and I could sell an illumiati board a lot easier than this Pansat board just because of the market numbers...hackers vs hobbiests, and if the prices are close, its a no brainer to get the illuminati.

Hook that 9200 up to c-band dish and let us know if it will lock any of the 8psk s2 stuff. I emailed pansatusa and they said "it will be posted on the website when released".

I know this is old but I just caught this! Wish I had room for a BUD! I've been trying to figure out a way to do this for a while. I have a Zero Lot line home which equals very little space. I might be able to put a 6 to 8 foot up but would only be able to see a few degrees off of 97.0w (my TS), maybe 91.0 to 101.0w , before the neighbors 1.5 story roof and trees to the west started blocking the signal. I had to mount my KU setup toward the peak of my roof on the east end of my house in order to clear the neighbors roof and trees while using a motor.

As a side note I've since bought a hd-dvd / BLU-Ray combo player and used HDMI input for it and have moved the 9200 over to Component. It looks just as good via component as HDMI after some slight TV adjustments. The only problem I had was having to split the analog Left / Right outputs so I could still record to the D-VHS deck. ( Again WTF over! put Firewire (IEEE 1394) connections on all HD consumer devices! stop holding out!) In hindsight It would have been nice to have had 2 set of analogue left right outputs.

I have yet to find a 8PSK S2 signal to view with my setup. Another note is as mentioned in other threads, the 9200 randomly responds to other IR remote commands, randomly turning off and on from other remotes.

Overall still happy with the box, and have stopped using the Traxis 3500 and Coolsat 5k. for blindscanning or general viewing.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I think this comment really belongs here. I just purchased a 9200, primarily to add an ATSC tuner outboard of my Dishnet 622, and still be able to see the RTNs on G10, without adding another box to the stack.

The 9200 has 3 different remote code schemes that you can switch between, I had been using a Pansat 3500 and the remote would interact with my Yamaha audio amp unpredictablely. Out of the box, the 9200 was worse. After changeing from code scheme "1" to "2", no more problems. If I had known this earlier, I probably would have gotten it sooner.

I've only looked at G10 so far, It is nice to be able to decode the Retrojam audio internally, as The old Yamaha amp only has one Dolby input and I'm using it for the 622.

Regards, Eric

:)Take a trip over to see Rick at "gofastmotorsports". He has the modules at a reasonable price. Tell him the seefoo sent you. Maybe I can get some brownie points.

I don't see any mention of DVB-S2/8PSK on that page.
