So, does this means that if I go to G4R and set the skew on 12.1 (after setting the elevation and all) and when I go to other satellites would the skew be in proper places? Remember, I am using the SG 2100 HH to move my dish. And I though it mentioned somewhere on this thread that the skew (I got the spelling right) should stay on the "0" setting since I would be using the SG 2100 motor. I just wanted one of you guys set me straight on that issue...

If you are using a motor NO skew is needed! In the ZERO position (TRUE south) the LNBF should be straight up and down! As the dish moves the whole dish skews its self. (Just like my avatar)

Hey Guys, my Receiver has a slot on it for smartcards. Who handles these smartcards and is the channels reasonable?
And out of curiousity, what is the average number of free channels out there? (not counting the scrambled channels).

Thanks Larry, I had about that much when my FTA receiver was installed with my 4DTV system. The last few months I wasn't pushing it and now that I am trying to go with Primestar dish setup I hope to get way more.

Ok, guys, I am having a major headache trying to get this system going. I set my pole up exactly straight and have the elevation, declination, and azimuth set, according to the manual that came with the SG 2100. It move like it should.
But very little results.
Question: Since I have a Invacom .3 universal LNBF, do I need to set it as "Universal" with the LNB config. or leave it with "Standard"?

Universal with the L.O. being 9750-10600

(Remember the Invacom QPH-031 is a Standard L.O. 10750)

Here's all I done so far:
(1) I set up the pole, plumbed and level.
(2) I fixed up the mount Old John created and applied to the 1 meter Primestar dish.
(3) I put the Primestar dish to the SG 2100 HH Motor.
(4) And put it on the pole, and visually turn the dish and motor toward the true south (the best I know how. I was good at it with the c band systems throughout the years)
(5) I used my 13 inch color tv, short pieces of RG6 cables, my Satpros DSR 500 receiver and put it all together near the dish.
(6) Put my Invacom SNH universal .3 LNBF to its holder, with the 0 degree up with the Skew marker on the LNBF holder
(7) I put the LNBF on like how Old John did his, pushed back.
(8)I also used my satellite strength meter between the LNBF and SG 2100 motor (When I push the button on my SG 2100 going either east or west, I would see the needle and hear the sound of the meter and know when I am hitting any satellites as I go thru the arch.

If anybody see something I am doing wrong, pleeeeeasse let me know!
I failed to mention that on the settings of my dish is as follow (I used the settings from the SG 2100 manual plus what Old John said to do):
Elevation Angle 57 (motor mount)
Declination angle 24.6 (I used a angle finder on the flat part of the Primestar dish)
Does this mean that the flat part of the Primestar dish need to be Parrallel to the tube arm of the SG 2100? That's the impression I am getting from reading this thread.
