[VOOM] Now What??????

Ok assuming that everyone has seen today's announcement. What are my
options???

DirectTV - had it. Not enough HD programming
Cable - Cable sux again not enough HD programming.

I'm curious as to what you all think about this. What are your
opinions? what would be the best option?

With Dish, although not near as much HD, you at least can keep OTA HD
through their box without having to switch inputs on your TV. I
switched about 3 weeks ago and have been very satisfied, as OTA HD is
what I primarily watched.

I don't suppose Dish (or any other service) is available to those of us who
can only receive a satellite around 61.5 due to the location of our condo
balcony?

Well, since all this is about DISH buying a satellite at 61.5 maybe so :eureka .

Then wouldn't you save a bunch of cash if you just strolled down to
Wally World and bought an OTA box?

Have had DirecTV, 4DTV and now have Dish and Voom. I only subscribe to high def on Dish right now and will keep Dish and enjoy it and Voom. As far as to which is better, Voom has been great so far with no problems from satellite but could not get all local OTA with Voom receiver, but the Dish receiver picks them up fine with the same antenna. (my personal 10' antenna that was already installed). I really think it's a personal preference between Direct and Dish, just depends on which programming you prefer, most are the same except sports and foreign. Cable is terrible here with only one provider and no HD. The best thing to do is compare what's available and choose.
In the mean time I am enjoying Voom and Dish and not really worried about if Voom goes or stays. I hope they stay, but if they don't, they just don't. Just enjoy it while you got it.

Unfortunately, in my area, I only get one OTA HD channel.........ABC....
