A special featured guest of Satellite Expo 2007 at the 'C-Band Pioneers Dinner' will be Sir Arthur C. Clarke. As you should be aware, Clarke conceptualized the geostationary (now appropriately, 'Clarke') orbit belt in a benchmark scientific paper published in British magazine 'Wireless World' back in October 1945. Further, research has established that he owned one of the first three 'home dish' systems to ever exist (1974) anyplace in the world. During the C-band years (1979 - 1986) he was a frequent contributor to CSD/Coop's Satellite Digest and appeared in various industry satellite distributed news programs including 'Boresight'. Segments of his TV appearances will be featured at the exhibit hall 'C-Band Reunion' video corners throughout the April 19-21 period. Clarke's better-known work covers nearly 100 fiction and non-fiction books including two made into movies; "2001" and the sequel "2010." His 'attendance' at Satellite Expo's C-Band Reunion dinner will be via either webcam or pre-recorded video, final arrangements to be made closer to the event. He will be 89 years young on December 16 and has made the Indian Ocean island of Sri Lanka his home for nearly 50 years.

Not on person?

Why make such a fuss for a video.

Really, "Not on person"??? Well, I wasn't expecting anyone to be on anybody, but the reason that we are making such a fuss, is because their is a good chance that Mr. Clark will be at the Dinner, as well as the www.SatelliteExpo2007.com ...

Of course you personally may not be interested in seeing or talking to the man that they named the "Clark Belt" after, but it is rather exciting to quite a few of us...

Check it out, and if you are a Satellite Dealer, or Tech, you might just want to consider this Fantastic Event!!! or then again NOT!!! RONTGLMAO....
