You are wrong. Comcast now has 2 year price plan, his bill will go up $15 second year, and then $15 for the 3rd year. That's on the Triple Play.

Yeah but I am on NO CONTRACT:) so I will treaten to cancel to keep the lower rate.

In FIOS served areas things have gotten VERY COMPETIVE:)

as a matter of fact the work order said competive area......

I think that Scott needs to make a new forum here, one for people to bitch and moan about how bad Dish Network is.

I have Direct TV coming this Friday to hook me up. I have been with Dish for 13 years and was happy with my service until the past year or two when they started having all of these extra fee's and increases. In addition they kept on telling me that my RSN (MSG would be coming in HD very soon and SNY would have ALL the Met's games in HD). I want to thank Charlie for making me look else where for service after 13 years with Dish. I will be saving alot of money my first two years with Direct including an extra $200 with their AAA discount but even after that Direct will only be $3.00 more per month under the current pricing. I will also be getting the YES network which Dish doesn't offer and Versus (for hockey) which would cost me $10 more per month with Dish in a higher package.

It will be very active........

Which is very sad:(

I figure that within a short time downloading shows on the net will be mainstream and I will no longer need a tv provider at all:)

Just ONE very fast internet connection. buying shows from whatever channel I want ala carte.

This will force TV providers to de bundle:)

That's not bad, if we had comcast in this area, then I might have to sign on for something like that. We have cablevision, and they absoulutly suck.

That is a great point. If Fios is in the area, then I bet they would be more willing to keep your price low. The great thing about cable, is no 2 year contract, and if you need a new box, just go to your local comcast location and trade it in, no service fee's.

I wish that I lived in an area where I could get Fios or AT&T Uverse or even Comcast. Where I live if you want to watch anything other than OTA it is Dish Network or DirecTV and for years, C-Band was an option too. My local teleco, CenturyLink is coming out with a service that is similar to Uverse, it is called Prism but I doubt they will ever have it here, since we are lucky to get DSL and are stuck with 1.5 down at that.

We already it have it, it's called the Dish Network forum. Why can't anybody complain about how bad Dish Network customer service is or the outrageous equipment fees? If you don't want to read about it, just skip the post and move along.

All companies have problems but this company is getting worse and worse by the day. If you're happy with Dish Network good for you but don't ignore the fact that there are others that are having problems with this company.

I think people understand that, but when 4 or 5 people post a dozen times every day about it, and then go "Wow, look at the tsunami of anger!" it gets a little ridiculous. If everyone who was happy just came here and posted "Still happy with Dish today!" would you think "Man, Dish has really got it together now"?

Satellite programming & equipment fees are getting very expensive. If it were not for absolute I'd be without. I am just not going to pay a lot of money for tv.

I feel both sat companies are becoming more deceitful in the way they do business. Cable companies are not much better, but they still have 2/3 more video customers than both E* & D* combined. With that said it can be assumed that many people feel satellite tv is not a better solution than cable & the satellite companies are helping feed that trend.

I wouldn't worry about it. It will be many years before the net infrastructure will support a significant fraction of TV viewers, especially for HD.

A lot of the tsunami of anger was Hemi, Goaliebob99, & Bob Howler. Now these guys have gone maybe there will be a little less vitriol here. But then there are couple of others now that seems to be trying to fill their shoes.

They haven't gone. They still spend time and effort slamming Dish. Perhaps this will fade with time. May move on to other things.
