How do I hook up my sound system I just got a new Genie Box and it doesn't have an optical input in the receiver.

What audio outputs are on the Genie and what inputs are on your receiver?

If your receiver does not have HDMI or digital coax, get an optical to digital coax adapter (monoprice and others) for the Genie.

We don't know if his receiver has an hdmi input. That's why I asked what inputs and outputs he has available.

Also Im assuming he meant optical OUTPUT on the genie, no receivers have audio inputs currently. But depending on which genie he has (Im assuming the 34, since the 44 has an optical output) the only available audio outs are going to be digital coax, and hdmi (aside the R/W ports for 2ch) so your audio receiver has to support one of the two inputs, if it does not you will need to purchase a digital coax to optical adapter/converter. Then hook it up the way you had it previously.

But like raoul said we need more information about your setup to be more helpful.
