Well, it says effective today but as of right now Alexa is not showing a Dish skill available.

Did you use the Amazon Alexa square in the settings section to do the setup? I don't have an Echo or a Dot so I don't know if it's working but it sure looks like it's ready to go.

If anybody's sending me any cheese, Murray's has a nice selection and they deliver quite nicely and promptly!

Woe is me!

2-YEAR TV PRICE GUARANTEE
ADDING
• America's Top 120 will be added as Eligible Programming at $49.99
• $5 Joey additional receiver fee for each Joey
• Credit of $2 for 24 months for each Joey with Eligible Programming
• Includes the Joey 1, 2, 4k, and/or Wireless
• Maximum 5 Joeys per account
EXTENDING
...
• $10 Hopper DVR Service for 24 months with Eligible Programming
Is this for both new and existing subscribers? $10 Hopper fee + $5 Joey fee is like getting a Joey for free compared to paying the full-price $15 Hopper fee. That would almost make it worth it for me to consider upgrading from a ViP722k to a Hopper.

Also, does Flex Pack count as Eligible Programming?

The dish anywhere app is available for the Amazon fire TV. I downloaded it and then activated it and can now watch live TV without a Joey.

I haven't seen the dish Alexa skill yet, but sounds like it will be here soon.

Can you use it like the joey? Are you able to set timers or watch recorded timers or just live tv?

Sounds like a new receiver (The Hopper Lite) is coming which is a two tuner Hopper designed to replace the 622/722 is coming.

I have heard from a few (but not confirmed) that the Flex Pack is going away. (Not sure if its going away for everyone or if only not available to new customers...)

We had better get to keep the grandfathered DVR fee if we upgrade to this.

They can have my Flex Pack when they pry the remote control from my cold, dead hands! Seriously, since I have a two-year price guarantee, I wonder what package they would substitute for Flex Pack at the same price if they did take it away.

My Amazon Fire Stick has voice control and it is wonderful. No typing, you just ask it to search for a program and you get a list of all the programs that have the word or words in the title.

Here is another thought: Is the "Hopper Lite" really the dual-tuner functionality that was rumored to be coming to the Wally? That way, there would be no DVR fee. If I remember correctly, Directv requires you to add your own hard drive to use a "Genie Lite" as a DVR, so turning a Wally into a "Hopper Lite" would be an equivalent move.

I will have to start provider shopping If they discontinue it, I was paying $130 a month pre flex pack. I am now at $95 and think that is high. I am not going back to $130 a month for TV service.
