Question: Do you have any scoop on any DC heroes or villains coming to Arrow or The Flash?
Ausiello: I’ve got some explosive scoop on this one (you’ll see what I did there in a minute): Sgt. Bette Sans Souci – AKA Plastique – will make her way to The Flash this season. The series’ incarnation of the metahuman is a fetching young redhead who was a bomb specialist with the Army before she was injured by an IED in Iraq. Since being exposed to the Central City explosion, she can turn any object into a bomb with just a touch of her hand – not a bad comrade for The Flash to have on his team, eh?

‘The Flash’: New ‘Guardian Angel’ Trailer Gets Grim
Published 11 hours ago by Andrew Dyce
The Flash - Guardian Angel Trailer ...
Some heroes are made, others are chosen. The Flash series premieres Tuesday, October 7 at 8/7c!

If you could run faster than any human being in history, is there anything you would still be too late to stop? That’s the question posed in the latest trailer for The Flash, highlighting the fact the beneath the red leather and lightning, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is one truly troubled soul. His CW sibling may be the one defined by loss and torment, but as the newest trailer featuring Central City’s ‘Guardian Angel’ shows, The Flash and Arrow have both had their share of tragedies to overcome.
Ever since the first words broke of a Flash spin-off tied to the world of Arrow, skeptics have wondered if the darker, more stern approach taken for Green Arrow’s TV adaptation (often likened to Batman Begins) could work for Barry Allen’s world of metahuman villains. The first appearances of Barry Allen in Starling City – as well as the pilot episode of The Flash – merged the two shows with ease, but finding a stable tone for the shared universe is an ongoing challenge.
The Arrow showrunners have explained that part of the reason for bringing Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) into the fold is to lighten the mood substantially. As the above trailer shows, the balancing act will also require some added focus on the darker, less carefree aspects of Barry Allen’s speedster as well.

That isn’t to say that those darker elements aren’t pulled directly from the comic books, since Barry Allen’s path to heroism (rebooted origin story or not) began with one of the worst tragedies that a child could face. Understandably, the speedster’s claim to the title of ‘fastest man alive’ has attracted the most attention from casual observers. But The CW isn’t just interested in attracting viewers who felt that Arrow‘s style was a little too dark; they want to give those same fans another night to tune in.The differences may not seem as stark as they once did, as Arrow has stepped farther and farther into the realm of the supernatural, and of costumed heroes. With The Flash still weeks away from its debut, yet already having cast the likes of Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), this trailer may be needed for some potential viewers. The message – whether it’s accurate in the end or not – is that the superpowers of the show aren’t the core, but Barry Allen’s mission. At the end of the day, it’s fair to say that Barry and Oliver – while starring in two different shows – represent two sides of the same coin. Oliver Queen may seem like a man with nothing to live for, but deep down, he’s always ready to believe in the best of people. Barry Allen may seem like a happy-go-lucky kid on the surface, but is secretly consumed with solving a mystery that destroyed the life he could have had.

We can’t say for sure if that relationship will be explored in the first planned crossover event, but it shows that the two heroes may have more in common than even fans expected. Are you happy to see The Flash pitched as a bit closer to Arrow than other details or trailers have implied? Or should each show stick with their own style, and let audiences find which one(s) they like? The Flash premieres Tuesday, October 7th, 2014 @8pm on The CW.

Got anything juicy on CW’s The Flash?
Looks like Central City will get hit with a Blackout in Episode 7, when Farooq, an electricity-wielding metahuman, seeks vengeance against Dr. Wells. Flash to the rescue? Mayyyybe not, seeing as Barry will be suffering a “powers” outage just when this new baddie arrives.

‘The Flash’: New 52 Version of Wally West Could Appear ‘Eventually’

http://screenrant.com/flash-tv-wally-west-black-african-american/

Comic book enthusiasts can be just as critical and outspoken as movie fans when it comes to changing the ethnicity of heroes or villains, but DC – and the producers of The Flash – are standing behind their decision. In fact, it’s one that was made with both the TV show and comic in mind. That means that if and when Wally appears in the Flash/Arrow TV universe, he’ll do so resembling his latest incarnation: “What’s very cool is in the New 52 they hadn’t reintroduced Wally [yet]. When they reintroduced Wally [in the New 52], they made him African-American. So now and forever, Kid Flash will be African-American.”
Executive producer Greg Berlanti (Arrow) reiterated the fact that the change in ethnicity was the plan from the beginning:
We made the West characters African American so we can eventually head in that direction, absolutely… That’s our hope.”

‘The Flash’ Producers Talk Geoff Johns’ ‘Rebirth’ Influence; New Images Released http://screenrant.com/flash-tv-show-geoff-johns-rebirth-images-john-wesley-shipp/
Rebirth will have a strong influence on The Flash, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone familiar with the comic. In a new video released by The CW, Kreisberg and Berlanti briefly discuss how excited they are for the villains appearing this season, as well as how they’re incorporating elements from Rebirth. Check it out above. The murder of Barry’s mother definitely won’t be all The Flash series borrows from John’s Rebirth, but it’ll likely be the most literal. Berlanti mentions in the above video that fans will notice aspects from Rebirth throughout the season, starting with the pilot, “but how we twist and turn that is hopefully what makes it exciting for the audience as we go along.”Speaking of their excitement for the series’ villains, Kreisberg says:Aside from Batman, The Flash probably has the best villains of anybody in the comic books. It’s always our drive to dip as much as we can into the DC Comics playbook and I think that people are going to be amazed to see those amazing Flash villains showing up a lot earlier than people probably expected.
