The Leftovers on HBO

We haven't watched ep2 yet, but it kinda reminds me of that movie where there's another earth floating in the sky and then the movie is about an emo girl instead of what I want it to be about... the second earth sitting there in the sky!

Wasn't that movie called "Another Earth"? Yes, I remember that movie too. I was disappointed that they spent no real time on the second earth and instead went on about the stupid emo girl .

This is ok and I may not keep this after a few more episodes and here is hoping it gets better! :)

Carnival was great. I never watched any of deadwood though.

Deadwood was GREAT, I wish that show had lasted more than three seasons. I liked Carnival, but Deadwood was better.

I'm sorry, I did watch this show and the animal cruelty scenes decided it for me. I won't be watching any more. The shooting of the dog for no reason and the elk or deer being eaten alive by a pack of stray dogs while it was squealing horribly in pain , totally grossed me out.:wtf2 The rest of the show was just boring.

There must be a lot of shows you do not watch then. How about all the shows were people are killed and such? Don't get me wrong, if that is your choice it is fine with me but this is far from the only show where things like this are deplicted.

Agree Deadwood was one of the best they have done life was way too short for this series

OK Watched the first two episodes and haven't decided yet what to think. I will watch more but it needs something more...... not sure what though.

This has big time flavor of some book or movie I have seen in the past. Can't put my finger on it though. Anyone have any ideas on what this might be reminding me of. At some level there is a parallel to the Dome on CBS right now but that is not what I am tying to search to figure out

People have been dieing in shows since entertainment was invented. I know it's not real and I guess eventually you get desensitized to it. Animals being killed or eaten alive while screaming a horrible noise, is not necessary and is purely for shock value. I don't watch shows where that is depicted. House of Cards was a series I was going to try to watch on Netflix and as soon as the first episode started ,there was a car wreck and the main guy comes up to the scene and pets the whimpering dog who you don't see ,just hear and then snaps his neck. That was it for me. I haven't and WON'T ever watch that series ever again. I don't watch animal cruelty scenes and I don't patronize movies or shows that show it, anymore than I watch child porn for the same reason. There simply is NO NEED for it on tv or the movies ,PERIOD. :thumbdown

This weeks episode was as cryptic as the first three, but I was mesmerized by it! A simple character definition show with lots of symbolism and way too many unanswered questions. It got a little predictable at the end, but overall I thought it was an excellent stand-alone episode.

What an intense episode this week! Just like every HBO drmatic series, it takes a few weeks to grab you. Then it shakes the living daylights out of you. Then it captivates you like no commercial series ever can.
This week's episode, to me, was the best and moat revealing so far in the series. The progression of events had me more than on the edge if my seat. At times i was standing up, pacing the floor as the story filled me with anxiety and a near morbid curiosity as to the path of the story. And to me that was one of the best parts. I couldn't guess what would happen. Wow, I liked thus episode!

I have to echo my previous post. Tonight's episode was some of the most gripping television I have ever seen. I
The slow episodes at the beginning of this limited run series were absolutely necessary to set up such a fabulous payoff. WOW! What an amazing study of the human psyche!
