It will be no loss and haven't watched it in long time and won't watch it enjoy weathernation alot better!! :)

Well, I have watched a couple of buying in Alaska. BUT - it's supposed to provide WEATHER info!

I used to watch the weather channel when they ran the local forecasts every 15 minutes, but ever since I got satellite its not worth watching.

When I was a kid, I used to watch the weather channel for the sole purpose of seeing if we would get a snowstorm that would cancel school. I learned 3 things...

#1 Our school district never closed. We had a bigger chance of the school closing down due to a water main break, than a snowstorm.

#2 The predictions are never accurate when it comes to snow. 1-3 Inches ment a dusting, 3-6 inches ment about an inch, 6-12 Inches ment about 4 Inches, 12-14 usually ment that we where in for a big storm.

#3 Its better not to watch the weather and just deal with the weather as it happens.

Well, theres the Real Story.
They are owned by Comcast, Now, this doesnt surprise me at all.
Every channel Comcast has thier greedy hands on will have a hard time negotiating with D* because, well, that who Comcast is.
they dropped another comcast channel..G4

Not surprising as Dish launched their own weather channel when there was a dispute with The Weather Channel...Of course, that was a mess although I wish it would have worked out. That is a different story, though...I think there is a YouTube video of what happened still :)

Comcast has listed G4 as being discontinued in January, so I can't blame DirecTV for dumping it ahead of time instead of
waiting until it's last day of service is over.

as for home shopping in another post, Comcast owns ShopHQ.

and finally, I don't need TWC for weather. I have my local news weather for the dumbed-down version, my local NWS site that I consider the "local forecast discussion" as great weather porn, and I have RadarScope on my iphone for dual pol radar and if I'm on a PC I have many NWS/NOAA sites and some .edu weather sites that give me lots of maps, high-res dual-pol radar and all types of weather model data to access and analyze.
