I am a little confused here. Is VOOM done or not ?

The second press relaease is real. But as justalurker points out it si for VOOM HV, LLC not CVC.

I was looking at this and was wonder in can it be legal for VOOM HV, LLC to falsly state they are the ones providing service and offering progamming when it is actually Rainbow DBS? Voom HV, LLC has not purchased the assets and cannot legally state this.



This was at the end of the Voom HV, LLC press release:

Actually it is legal considering it is voom that offers those services and whether it's owned by cable or voom it doesn't matter. They are stating fact

I don't see where in that press release VOOM HD says it is currently running VOOM. They say they have the financing. they say they are interested in further discussions, and then they discuss the VOOM service.

Seems to me that one of the most interesting things to be drawn from the release is in the first sentence:

"JERICHO, N.Y., Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- VOOM HD, LLC today announced that it is prepared to finance the continued expansion of the VOOM satellite service."

With the operative word being EXPANSION.

Sounds like the good guys think CVC is trying to change the deal.

I've gotten about 5 or 6 alerts and half say that voom is shutting down and the others that its alive. Tells you how accurate the news isn't.

The Wall Street Journal just posted an article on VOOM. If anyone subscribes could they post it here. I do not subscribe to the WSJ.

The WSJ article is just a summary of what has already been posted here. It did not provide any more insite into the matter. It was pretty forceful in its assertion that VOOM is shutting off:

Cablevision Systems Corp. Chairman Charles Dolan failed in his last-ditch effort to save his pet satellite-television service, named Voom, by buying the service's assets from Cablevision himself.
...The subscribers will continue to receive service during a "transition period" of at least 30 days, the company said.

Just talks about what the VOOM retailers are gong to do and no mention of Dolan's memo that they want to save voom.
