I see the message on Comedy Central for a minute or so, bouncing around the screen ... that different from the crawl ... and 10 times as annoying.

Curious, do they run them thru commercials as well as programming, thers so much commercials on that I may miss the notice. (I flipped to Discovery about 4-5 minutes ago and have yet to see programming.
You can blame DIRECTV for the bouncing message. Viacom originally just put a static message on the bottom of the screen, which DIRECTV kept blacking out.

I'm not blaming anyone ... for that ...

Apparently Viacom wants thier channels to not be seen by the millions that sub so D* ... you would think the object would to have as many subs as possible ... maybe not.

Well I do blame DIRECTV for the need of the bouncing message. If they didn't try to block the message then Viacom wouldn't have to go to the annoying bouncing message.

I guess it also then goes for AT&T that they don't want Dish subs to watch HBO/Cinemax channels so they would have as many subs as possible.

I didn't know they took Cinemax as well.

that will give you a good excuse to move your mom to Dish. Be sure to use the refer a friend and save her a little money. We went to dish on Jan 1 of this year right before the new price hike. I had a feeling it was going to be a bad year for directv.. When I tried to cancel Directv they gave me $90 off a month for 12 Months. I don't really use it anymore but I set it to a package that generates no bill. lol It will be fun to watch what happens next. I think you can kiss Viacom goodbye from directv from what I have been reading and seeing.

There are serious LOS challenges with Dish where they live, plus no OANN for my dad on Dish.

it's now Midnight ET, and at the moment, Comedy Central is still on, and so is the bouncing alert box.

I go to turn on comedy control to see if it was blacked out, and I forgot I had Comcast in the room I was checking the channel on.

Had to go to the family room to check Directv and at 12:04 the channel is still up

and at 11:10 PM CDT/12:10 AM EDT, the channels on by Viacom are still on the DTV lineup, either the DTV Uplink center is too slow at blacking them out or did AT&T and Viacom reached some sort of agreement or extended the deadline by a day so people can see the Kids Choice Awards tomorrow on Nickelodeon.

i think it might be possible Vacom's time of deadline could be in the wrong time zone, they said Eastern, but it might be possible that the real dealine is Midnight CDT (AT&T is based out of Dallas, Texas) or Midnight PDT (as DirecTV is still based out of El Segundo, CA , which is in the LA area and is a Suburb of Los Angeles).
