I like Dish over all, I am not happy with the Voom stuff but I love the DVR. But Directv has my locals in HD, NFL, and more HD I am getting mad because I dont want to go to all the hastle but if Dish doesnt do anything I will.

I finally watched Poltergiest that I DVR'd off of Monsters a few months ago. What a great presentation. Pq was great but the DD for a 1982 movie was awesome. Monsters (Voom) really transfered to hd very well. MGM in this regard has been poor. Do they even present in DD? I still have not found much to watch on these new HD/SD channels. Very poor offering IMO. I guess if you like a ton of Cartoons, political stations, and fishing your in heaven now.

I know I know.

I just watched "Inherent the wind" that I recorded on my HTPC days before Voom went dark in the middle of the night (without a heads-up to their paying customers ). Great presentation and PQ was tops.........D@mn I miss Voom :(

MGM does not do DD.5.1...................I don't know way.

I don't quite understand the concept of IFC HD "replacing" Voom unless there is going to be a suite of IFC HD channels, which would be pretty awesome. I don't know how many contracts Rainbow has in place for the Voom movie content, but they might look to find a way to use it.

Well IFCHD does have some decent Horror sometimes so that would be cool. But if they have an IFCHD suite that would be cool.

I love how their math works replace 15 channels with 1, they dont have a clue.

Not only that, when IFC HD is added, it will probably be part of another package (premium) and will not be available on its own...Charlie will try to get another $10-$15 for it!

Thats total bull, I am not happy with Charlie I think its time for the board to clean house with Dish.

Or, it will be available through either HD-only or HD Essentials w/ AT200 (since IFC is IN the AT200)

Sorry, I didn't check the packages. I thought IFC was a throw-in on one of the premium movie packages.

In that case, I guess we (HD Only package subscribers) WILL get this one HD channel to replace the 15 Voom channels...

Since IFC is owned by Rainbow just like VOOM it does not makea lot of sense to me that tney are about to sign with DISH. I think this is one of those stories that people just accept because they read it on the net.

This is what the E* Customer Retention specialist told me. I didn't claim that it came from Charlie himself. It has no more validity than whatever reliability that specialist has.

I believe it was said also. These CSRs have no idea what they are saying. Half the time I think Charlie either lies to them or keeps them in the dark to confuse the consumer.

I was so loyal to Dish ever sense I came over, and when I updated to the DVR I liked them even more, then they drop voom and you see all the stupid decisions they are making, I really am not happy anymore with them. Its not just the issues with Voom either, its the lies and the shady moves. Its hard for me to trust them and I think its time to say goodbye to charlie and get someone else in there.

I don't think that Ergen is going to be replaced if for no other reason than just because he controls amajority of the voting shares. But if you are that dissatisfied perhaps you should leave DISH.
