All I read for weeks was the demise of Voom from all the naysayers.
Where have you all gone? The only thing members are talking about OTA
reception... Its hilarious.

Most of them left Voom for another provider (cable/dtv/dish).

I haven't been a naysayer, I just left Voom because of the lack of HD-DVR
which I have now with my cable company. Fear not though my friend, as soon
as Voom releases their whole house DVR solution, "I'll be baaak" (in my
arnold voice <g>)

Bruce is still here, Justalurker is subbing in for Pradike, red alien was banned, fredfa stops in with a Doom notice from time to time. And BFG has picked up some of the slack.

My one year VOom anniversary was 3 weeks ago.

Who else here remembers "Mel Ott"?

The guy bitched all day, every day about Voom. He cancelled even
while he wasn't even paying for programming. The week after he
dropped Voom, they added about 10 channels. It was hilarious.

Good ole Mel. I think he lives on in infamy as the first really
negative VOOM poster. But there is always someone to take his place.

[VOOM] Re: the doomsayers

My story is exactly the opposite of Jerry's as I dumped E* in favor of voom. E* also recently sprung a rate increase. E* charges an extra $10 per month for a very weak HD package. Even my non techie spouse commented that the voom pq is much better than dish and she was just talking about sd. Yes, they have more sd channels on E* but I really do not miss the bingo and shopping channels and much prefer rave and equator. Yes, E* basic is a good price but once you start adding on the services, Vava voom is a better deal. Finally, I was rebooting my E* hd box daily, the voom box has remained stable. The only thing I miss is having multiple favorites lists and ppv. Still, for me there is no going back to E*
