Installed yesterday now my question is when does the program
information start showing up on the screen?

try leaving box off if it has been on all nite or reboot box by holding power button in on box for 5 seconds then leave off 1/2 hour should help

[VOOM] Re: When does Program guide start?

Have you gotten your PG yet? It should only take a short time. As
already pointed out doing a power button reboot, waiting until you get
the VOOM home page back and then chosing the All Channels, pressing
OK, then going back, chosing All HD and pressing OK should give you
the PG in about 20'. Seems to be dependent on have many buttons you
push after doing this. Just letting it download from the sat without
changing channels seems fastest.

And, of course, turning off your STB with your remote when you go to
bed (assuming you can pull yourself from the HD) will allow the STB to
be updated with the latest firmware and PG.

Let us know if you have any problems.

Enjoy your HDTV and have A Happy New Year!

Watching HDTV under mostly cloudy Seattle skies, Gill

What about those of us who either sleep with the TV on or are up all night watching? Seems odd they would only send updates and the complete guide in the middle of the night. Most people work days and could easily have the STB off most of the day. That seems a logical time to send new data.

Maybe Voom will consider sending updates at least twice a day, around 3Am and again around 3Pm. It would be easier for a lot of us to have it off during the day then at night!

I don't think it matters when you turn the receiver off, you just need to turn it off for about half an hour every day to keep the program guide updated. I've done it in the middle of the afternoon.

[VOOM] Re: When does Program guide start?

Does it update thru the Phone Line? If so I may have to cancell
the install anyway, It will be a toll call from my house. I have to
plug my Tivo in once a week, and don't even plug in D*TV.
