Still getting lockups almost every time I watch now with the new
software. Is this being addressed?

Thanks a lot.

I forgot to mention, I am connected with component, not DVI.

I am getting lockups with the new software, too.

I am quite annoyed at VOOM for sending out such bad software to
select boxes only. One of my boxes has the old software and is
fine. This should be corrected immediately.

RE: [VOOM] Re: Wilt

Would you prefer Voom sent out bad code to ALL boxes instead? I sure don't.
I commend Voom for listening to the feedback they got on the release and
halted. I'm confident they are working hard on fixing the bugs as fast as
they can so they can release good code. It's just not released as fast as
some would like.

[VOOM] Re: Wilt

No, I would hope they would thoroughly test the code on their own
internal boxes before sending it to any customers. This code is
clearly terrible, and it should have been caught before sending it
to customers. This is the worst code we have had (in regard to
lockups and black screens) since the beginning. It should be
correctly immediately. If I was a new customer and seeing how the
box works for the first time I would be very down on VOOM. Having
seen one of my boxes work fine with the old code, I am hopeful of a
new code to correct this bad code.

Scott,
I have the new source code on all five of my receivers and never had a lock-up. I wonder what is different. Do you have the original STB(s) from last year. The only difference I can think of is tha I had all of min swappd out to the newer STB(s) several months bac.

I do agree wth tetesting of the code. They have to develop comples Use Cass and run them trying to break the boxes, not performing light trest which do not stress the receiver. I am begining to wonder wat Testing Methodlogy they are using.

[VOOM] Re: Wilt

What happens with mine is if you try to change channels too fast the
box locks. I also get some black screens with sound or some picture
screens without sound at times. This all started after the news
software. Since they stopped sending it to everyone there must be
something wrong with it. I wish they would send a fix to those of
us who got the new software.

What version do you have Scott ? I only have 1 VOOM STB and it has
version 6.2 Since Friday I had to reboot 3 times... And before that
is I couldn't tell you the last time I had to reboot. Even when
surfing slow I stop on a channel it sometimes has no sound. have to
arrow up the back to get the audio. I've had 6.2 for a while I think
using DVI, and it seems to be acting weird the last few days.

I was upgraded to 7.0b almost 3 weeks ago and have similar problems. I didn't have any problems, at all, with 6.20 - worked like a charm. I have called VOOM on at least three occasions asking to be downgraded to 6.20 or [hopefully] to be patched. I was told there is no way to downgraded the box to a previous software version nor do they have a patch to correct problems with 7.0b (lock-ups, slow channel changing, etc.). I have been told to keep the box in stand-by and simply wait for the next software release.....................................................................................................................................................................still waiting.

Anyway, I have spent significantly more time watching 14 channels of Cable HD on my HD DVR the past three weeks. I hate Cable, but I love the HD DVR. I hope VOOM squares-away this problem and releases their DVR soon.

[VOOM] Re: Wilt

They should either roll everyone back to 6.20 or issue a fix to the
new software promptly.

[VOOM] Re: Wilt

I wholeheartedly agree. I turned the tv on tonight to watch the
football game and changed the channel twice and had 2 lockups. I
never had a lockup before I was "Upgraded".

I have had enough, if I don't hear something from Voom very soon,
Voom is gone from my house. All of the HD content in the world is
worthless if I have to reset my receiver everytime I change channels.
