Annie 3.5 stars - Excellent Family Room Film! What can I say that you don't already know...Little Orphan Annie, Daddy Warbucks, Miss Hannigan, and a cast of expected characters. Albert Finney (Warbucks), Carol Burnett (Hannigan) and Bernadette Peters all do a good job in this film version of the broadway hit. Although this iteration of Annie (Aileen Quinn) isn't as cute and lovable as others, the film is enjoyable for viewers of all ages.

House - 3 stars: Well, it's an OK horror film that is actual quite funny at times, and is much more interesting due to the fact it is a whose-who of 80s TV: William Kott (The Greatest American Hero), George Wendt (Cheers), Richard Moll (Night Court), Kay Lenz and Michael Ensign (guest appearances on at least a dozen 80s shows each). It's not a god-awful way to spend an afternoon. I gave it an extra 1/2 star for having a pretty good HD transfer, 1:85.1

Toobox Murder 1.0 stars (Monsters HD). Not your typical horror movie. A building is cursed by guy who goes on a murder rampage. I have never seen this one but some of the scenes are very bloody.

Time Bandits - 3.5 stars: A very-good Family Room film for the entire family. In a nutshell, a young boy travels through time with a group of treasure-seeking dwarves. The plot is so-so, but it's the acting that keeps this movie on-track with stars like John Cleese (Robin Hood), Sean Connery (King Agamemnon), Shelly Duvall (Dame Pansy), and Katherine Helmond (Mrs. Orge).

Children on Their Birthdays - 3.5 stars: A pretty good "First Love" movie that deals with growing up in 1947 Alabama. The child "overacting" is obvious, but there are solid performances turned-in by the adults which include: Christopher McDonald (Happy Gilmore) as the Mechanic/Sheriff and Tom Arnold. All-in-all an interesting movie.

The Dangerous Lives of Alter Boys - 3.5 stars: An enjoyable movie about a group of Catholic school boys, their obsession with graphic comic books, and their battle with the Sister Assumpta (Jodie Foster). Vince D'Onofrio (Father Casey), Emile Hirsch, and Kieran Culkin also offer credible performances - highly recommended.

Creepshow 4.0 stars. I have to give these many stars to this movie. One of my favorites. The stories are so good on this one that it does not matter how many times you watched it, you can still enjoy... "It is father's day.... I wan my Cake!"

The Birds 4.0 stars. I watched this one when I was little. I remember watching it in Black and white. The story is simple but at that time it was quite scary. Now watching it really shows how good this classic movie is. Anyone watching it for the first time will not appreciate it but for us old timers, it is a classic.

Creepshow 2 4.0 stars. Another one from the Romero era. Classic, Classic. Best one is the story of the lake.

Sweet Revenge. Only watched the first 15 minutes. The movie gave away the plot and if you haven't seen this story before it maybe good. A well known story and I was not going to spend time watching something that I already knew the ending. 0.5 stars.
