With all sincerity, just get a Roku and avoid the headaches. The direct interface is so much cleaner and faster than the Hopper's.
I have to agree. For me, the Netflix implementation on Hopper 3 is extremely unstable:
The app freezes on launch most of the time
The receiver lockups requiring a reboot occasionally
The app forgets your login information often
The app refuses to switch to Ultra HD on launch often - receiver reboot required if this happens
Lack of Dolby Digital 5.1 (at least via HDMI)
Plus lack of Netflix on 4k Joeys.
Use some other device to watch Netflix. My LG TV does a fine job but lacks advanced audio formats (Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Atmos, ...).
I am holding out for Roku or an Ultra Blu Ray player for all streaming access. When Dolby Vision support happens and my Pioneer Elite receiver also gets the promised upgrade for Dolby Vision pass through then I'll move in that direction.
