Running a site like SatelliteGuys is expensive. For the most part Scott Greczkowski has been covering the costs of keeping the site running. However we have a wave of renewals coming up that we would like some help with. Renewals include the forum software license, domain names, forum add on renewals and more.
While we have advertising, that advertising does not cover the cost of running the site. Last month our advertising revenue was $29.15. Honestly the only reason we run advertising now is we hope that people get annoyed by the ads and register to use the site. We find when people register they then start to participate. And of course the secret to success for a forum is participation of its members.
