I just set up TV2 on my vip 622. The room2 remote does not seem to work, via either IR or uhf. the sat button on the remote lights when I press a button on the remote, but the vip622 does not respond. TV2 blue led does not turn on. I've set the 622 to dual mode. The remote uhf reciever antenna is installed. Fresh batteries have been put into the remote. The TV one remote works fine.
I've tried both the A and the B positions of the switch in the battery compartment.

What do I need to do to get the remote to work?

Does the 722 have dual ota tuners?

Thanks, Pete

When I got my new 622 about two weeks ago, tv1 was fine, both remote and remote address were set to 1. Tv2 remote address was on 1 while the remote address for the tv2 remote was set to 9 from the factory. Yes, I know the sentence is a little confusing but the frequencies the remotes send to the receiver are termed 'remote address'.

Thanks.

this is helpful and pointing me in the right direction. I am able to change the remote address, but cannot figure out how to change the address on the reciever. The reciever is set to uhf/ address 1. I can only set 16 - 32 as per this thread.: http://www.satelliteguys.us/dish-network-forum/19574-dish-remote-tip.html

Cannot figure out how to set remote to less than 16 (like 1 as the reciever is set) or how to change the receiver address. Will keep looking...

Thanks again, Pete

Ok, I have figured this out for the most part. I can now set the remote to address 1 - 32. If I set it to address 1, it works. I cannot figure out how to set the receiver to B frequencies or address 2 - 32.

I've tried sat>rec and this does not do it. When I set the remote to address one (hold sat>1>#>rec) the tv2 icon flashes on the info screen. It does not do this on any other number.

Am I missing something on setting the address on the receiver?

Thanks again, Pete

See page 72 of your User's Guide.

To check the remote control address: Press and hold the SAT button until all of the mode buttons light up, release the SAT button and press POUND (#) twice, the SAT mode button will flash the same number of times as the address number (3 flashes means the address is 3, ect.)

To Change the address for tv2 remote, press the SYSTEM INFO button on the receiver's front panel, keep the display on the tv and make note of the secondary remote address. Press and hold the SAT button on remote for tv2 until all the mode buttons light up, then release the SAT button. Use the NUMBER PAD on your remote to any number between 1 and 16 (But not the one noted in previous step.) Press the POUND (#), if you entered the address correctly, the SAT button will flash 3 times. Make note of the new number. Press RECORD, make sure the remote address on the System Info screen is the same number as the one you entered. Press SELECT to close the info screen. Remote for tv2 should then work properly.

Thanks.

This all working as expected, except my receiver will not change addresses. I guess not a problem unless someone else starts controlling it. I've tried resetting the receiver several times. Cannot get it to change address or from uhf A to uhf B.

The remote changes to the different channels as verified by Sat>#>#.

You must be in the sys info page (menu menu) to change the receiver's address.
BTW, the address is a bit string prefix to the command not a frequency.

Since you can see the address you do not need to use (Sat-hold # #) to see the address.
This trick is useful to pick the code for TV to transfer it to new remote.

To set a new address use (Sat-hold digit #) to set remote and add a (record) to change receiver also. You may need to set the displayed address first to get control of it.
It is more complicated if you have multiple sets--if needed remove one RF stub, temporarily.

This is from recent experience but the manual may be clearer.

I get the impression the OP is looking at the rf modulation (see reference to UHF) and not the remote address (why is OP trying to set at 16 -32 since the remote address is set between 1 - 16).
No, he's working on remote address. The 16-32 thing came from the link in post #5 (too much information).

Remote addresses can not be set above 16, I realize OP wants to change the address, but I think he/she is looking at the rf modulation numbers not the remote address number. Remote address can only be changed on the receiver on the System Info screen, while the remote address and rf tv out are both listed one the System Info One screen. If the OP is on the System Info One screen, the remote address on the remote will change but the number for the receiver will not change.

Ok, I was not aware of this, but I doubt the OP was either as is a new costomer who could not find the manual.
Go back and read post #5, please. This is where he said he was getting it.
