Ok so I'm not stupid, but the website says one thing and when you call you are told differently. I explained this to the CSR and he said to 'email corporate' about it.

Here is the last message I sent and they decided to just stop talking to me. :mad:

<them>,

Thank you for the adjustment. Will you also communicate to your call center that a component cable is not included with the DVR and that it is required to purchase separately to view HD content?

Thanks,
<me>

<me>,

I apologize for the confusion regarding the upgrade process. We were aware the website had some confusing upgrade promotions regarding the pricing. Everything has since been corrected and the upgrade price is currently $99 for a 722. I see you have already made the payment but I will go ahead and adjust off $50 from your account. Once you fill out the rebate you will receive the additional $100 credit.

If you have any other questions please let me know.

Thank you

Subject: Equipment Upgrade

I am writing to express my disappointment with the way the "DISH'n It Up" offer is presented on your web site and the misinformation I received once I called. I recently selected this offer and found that instead of the advertised $49 after bonus credits, it was actually $99.

The "DISH'n It Up" link ( https://customersupport.dishnetwork.com/customercare/equipment/processEquipmentUpgrades.do ) clearly states that the HD-DVR option with professional installation is $49 after redemption of the bonus credit. In addition it provides a pop up link in the "HD-DVR" hypertext ( http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/our_products/dish_hd/receivers/index.shtml ) that shows both the ViP622 and ViP722 HD-DVR models as available choices. However, when I called to order the upgrade I was told that the 722 is $99 and the 622 is $49. I asked the representative about the web page and was told to send "corporate" an email.

Also, I was told that the DVR had a "component cable" in the box. I even asked the representative to be clear and he said that a "component cable" was included, but not a HDMI. In fact, there is not a "component cable" in the box at all, only an RCA cable. This is not the same thing as RCA can not send high definition to the television and I was forced to purchase a cable separately to actually use the product as designed.

Thanks,
<me>

Oh, and I just checked. It still says $49 after install and has a link to both the 722 and the 622. Like I said I know and understand the reason for the charge, but its their error.

Not really sure.

I've heard on here some people don't get HDMI or Component cables (or one or the other only) in their kits. I bought a HDMI cable from Walmart for 35 bucks in anticipation, just to find the stack of cables.

You could contact your dealer (if you used install), otherwise you might want to contact ceo@echostar.com since they might have a final word on this and/or they could send you a set.. They seem to be pretty good build quality.

Thanks, but the email above (quoted) is to ceo@dishnetwork.com. Is it the same? / Does it go to the ERC? My problem is that they are ignoring me now.

I don't know if ceo@dishnetwork.com works or not, I always email ceo@echostar.com. They usually respond to me in about a day, I've emailed them 3 times about the same problem and finally everything got ironed out.

If you haven't gotten a response yet and it's been a few weekdays, you should try re-sending to the other address. If you have contacted the ERC previously, you should check the bottom of the email for their Direct Line number and try calling it.

The Executive Relations folks are fantastic, definitely one of the best parts about Dish Network.

Ok, I'll do that. Thanks for the help.

I called Dish last night to upgrade my 622 lease to a 722 and ran into the same issue. I was expecting a $149 upfront payment with a $100 rebate (net cost $49). What she gave me was a $199 upfront cost wth a $100 rebate and 6 months of free HD ($20 off each month for 6 months). My math = $199 less $100 less $120 (6x$20) = I'm ahead $21. Not a bad deal!

18 month commitment and the 722 it gets "installed" this Saturday. 90 day warranty on equipment and installation. I get to put my external HD to the test and transfer some of the contents of my 622 disk to the new 722.

I hope I get 6*20 of DishHD too. I'll call em back if I don't... The problem is this makes a big mess of my bill for this month (all these enable fees and then removal of them, etc.) I'll really have to wait for it all to stabilize before I get a better idea of whats going on.

I upgraded my 811 to a 722 for 149, but upon looking at my online bill, it shows they took 149 from my debit card and also shows a 199 being owed. I called Dish yesterday and was told that after I submit the rebate form it will be adjusted. Also I was told that the rebate will be in the form of 10 off bill each month. I now have a 622 and a 722.

I of course got a 722 through this program. My question is, how to I get the rebate? I don't see a link anywhere on the webpage for it, even if it is $10 a month of my bill. Better than nothing! :)

Works fine here.. You'll need Acrobat reader (or Foxit Reader, or something that does PDF) in order to view/print it though. There may be a fluke between you and Dish Network's site right now as well.

I turned it into a link as well to help other people with similar problem.

Hello all. New here. Just joined yesterday.

I see lots of info about the "Dish'n It Up" promo. I have a VIP622 and want to upgrade to a VIP722. I want the extra storage and I prefer the black cabinet color. I called E* CSR to engage the upgrade. They told me the 722 was unavailable and that I was not eligible for any type of upgrade promos. I currently lease my 622. What is the easiest, most cost effective way to upgrade to the 722? I hate the huge disconnect between the CSRs and the various promos listed on their web site.

Thanks for any/all advice.

That is the same form I will submit, and it is lump sum on the Dishin it up, but the tech I talked to said 10 a month, we will see in a couple months.
