I moved to Charlotte for baseball - what about the NHL? Center Ice?

I moved to Charlotte during the baseball season as I knew this would allow me to pick up the Braves, Nationals, and Orioles (and, at times, the Reds). After looking at the baseball territories, I moved to Buffalo (for the RSNs) a little later on -- which allowed me to pick up about six teams. The year before that, I had moved to Iowa -- which allowed me to pick up several teams as well... I guess I was just looking for a way to maximize the number of teams I could see since us DISH people no longer have Extra Innings. (I'm not actually subscribing to Charlotte's locals but only the RSNs).

Now, I was looking around at the free preview of Center Ice and noticed the Canadiens and the Hurricanes tomorrow night and automatically set the program guide to remind me of the game. Then, I got to thinking about the move and hit info to find out I was blacked out from the game (and the game doesn't appear to be coming on anywhere else). That doesn't surprise me now (considering all things) and, after looking at the broadcast schedule, I can simply stay in the area and I'll see most of the Hurricanes games through FSN.

Anyways, the baseball map is pretty freaky with four teams in the area (which is likely because the Carolinas don't have a baseball team). Am I now considered to be in any hockey territory other than just the Hurricanes? How about the Thrashers / Capitals?

Does anybody have any particular pros / cons regarding the Center Ice package? I'm also a fan of the Maple Leafs and Red Wings and figure the only way I'll receive either of those teams is Center Ice (unless I "move" somewhere near the Detroit area).

If you move to much you might kill it for the rest of us.

Yeah, it's been a while since I have moved and I'm content with staying put (as far as baseball) and don't really want to go through the hassel. Plus, one time before I had moved and it messed up the time zones on my guide (which I expected but it was difficult to always remember) so Charlotte is probably the best option for me as I always wanted a few more options than just the Braves. I was just curious if I would see the Capitals as well but I don't think I will... I think it's just the Hurricanes and whatever I might get if I purchase Center Ice. Oh, and being the Maple Leafs and Red Wings fan, I'm leaning toward the purchase...

I'm just hoping that the NHL Network will also come in SD.

Are you really moving or just as far as E* is concerned?

Anyways, being married to an official canadian leaf gal, and living in the buffalo area, the best way to get the leafs games is on CI, like I am. You get not only HNIC games, TSN, Rogers and Leafs TV games too.

Like I tell my wife, I like the leafs...but love the Sabres!!!
