Steinbrenner is the biggest moron in all of baseball. I hate the Yankees with a passion, but I have always liked and respected Joe Torre. I don't know why Joe hangs around and puts up with this crap every year. He should have quit the Yankees 3 years ago and went somewhere that he is treated like an adult by the team owner.
It just makes me laugh. I guess Steinbrenner didn't actually watch THE BRONX IS BURNING and see how stupid he looked back then with his Billy antics. I guess what's old is new. 
I'm surprised he's lasted this long, given George's infamous impatience. This would be a big mistake. It's not Torre's fault they have no pitching.
No....I never thought he was stupid...just greedy and spoiled....an "I want it NOW" type of person. And wait till A-Rod leave....then he will be in deep trouble. The real problem to me has been the decisions made by the GM when it has come to pitching trades/free agents.
everyone believes in NY that if Torres does not make it to the WS, he will be out of a job next season. He is a good manager but sometimes gets in love with bad habits and forgets that what's important to the team. lots of fans gets frustrated about that. All commentors are saying that this was another smart move on George parts. Trying to rout his team to do a better job by deflecting the blame toward his manager. Stupid or not, it kind of work at least for one game.

This series will probably be over tonight, if not, once Sabathia gets back, I'm not sure why Sabathia and Carmona are not going in the next two games anyways.
I forgot when the series started, would that be only 3 days rest for them ?

Sabathia pitched the first game so yes it will be only 3 days rest. I think Cleveland should throw both Sabathia (3 days rest) on game 4 and Carmona on game 5 (full rest). They will have two chances to take the series. If the Yanks win tonight, anything can happen on game 5. Cleveland need to win tonight and put an end to the series.

In all honesty, I don't think Torre could help them...I could be wrong....but that is a talent issue and not a issue where a good manager put them over the top.
It was hilarious watching Torres talk to the press yesterday; the look of resignation that this is the high pressure situation with Mr. Steinbrenner that is just part of the job.
