Hello,

I'm thinking about trading a 311 maybe two and getting a 625.

I'm confused about the "modes" ie Dual and Single.

This is what I'd like to do. I have a Panasonic 47" widescreen and I'd like to be able to split the screen and watch two different shows at once. It has separate inputs, not just PIP.

I'd also like to replace the 311 in my bedroom, if possible.

I have AEP so I'd get the DVR fee waived and it will always be hooked to a phone line so I wouldn't have to pay the dual tuner fee. This will save me $5 a month by being able to drop one 311.

So is this possible? Couldn't I just split the TV 2 Output to both TVs? And get two number 2 remotes (one for the living room and one to keep in the bedroom? Yes, I'm too lazy to play musical remotes)

Also I read there is a difference in recording options between the two modes?

Any help from 625 owners?

Thanks in Advance...

We have a 625 and use it in Dual Mode. What this means is that each TV is on its own tuner. I can have one channel while my brother can have a different one. When we record something, it is recorded on whichever tuner set it to record. However, once it is recorded (or while it is recording) either tv can view it.

As for doing split screen, the 625 have both RCA and Coaxial Outputs, so you could run the RCA (red, green, and yellow) to your widescreen and the Coax to the bedroom, allowing both tv's to see the TV 2 Tuner.

My only question for you is that you said you have a Widescreen TV. Is it a High-Definition Tv or Standard Definition??? The 625 is a SD Receiver, so it will not get any HD programming.
