Strange Channels with CE

I am noticing a bunch of strange channels on my HR20-700 (with current CE) many engineering and test channels.

Channel 1001 - DirecTV on Demand MPEG4 Test Channel - Got to download Mr Brooks in HD for free from this channel.

Channel 1010 - DirecTV Plus Welcome Video

Channel 1019 - ASC Test Channel (I tuned to it and saw the TV Show MASH playing for a few moments then it shot me to channel 201)

Channel 1890 - Players TV On Demand

1902 - DOD Test Channel
1903 - DOD Test Channel
1904 - DOD Test Channel

2372 - CBS West

8006 - 8010 ADS1 - ADS5 (Advanced Data Service)
8402 - MixC (Generic Mix Channel C)
8403 - MixD (Generic Mix Channel D)
8404 - MixE (Generic Mix Channel E)

8904 - (No channel name of description)
9004 - NFL Test Channel (Upcoming: The Quality Control Compilation)
9031 -BBVA (Network 40967 Broadband Video Access Shadow Channels with 5/3/07 id PIP)

9033 BBVE - BBV Enbled Test Channel - If this channel is visible, TestFeature 20 (Enabled) is true.

101 - T101 HD - If I select it I see the 101 in HD for a few seconds then the receiver changes to channel 201.

106 - IPPV Ordering Info 106 (kicks me to channel 201 when I select it)

205 - Sports Mix (Virtual) (Tunes for a few seconds then goes to channel 201)

352 - NMX - News Mix 352 (Virtual) (Tunes then goes to channel 201)

398 - DTV - LABC Engineering 9398 - LABC Engineering Channel

479 - FSMX - Fake Sports Mix

606-1 OUTHD - Outdoor Channel HD (Yippie!)

799 - Lan - Test Channel on Data network broadcast on network 0.

Anyone else seeing strange channels like this in their guide?

I just checked both of my HR20-700s (both running CE sw) and I do NOT have any of those channels in my guide, nor can I tune to any of them.

Maybe DirecTV is letting you see it Scott cause they know your the #1 Satelliteguy.

I cant actually tune to most off them, when I try it kicks me to channel 201.

Also if I try tuning to The Outdoor Channel HD I am not subscribed to that channel.

As I said, I am not getting any of those channels in my guide, nor can I tune to any of them, I get channel unavailable message.

There were quite a few reports that 606-1 was up for a time yesterday - in fact someone at dbstalk took a screenshot of the channel description from the guide and posted it there.

Who knows, maybe it is coming on in the morning, along with T101-HD.

I can't tune channel 101 everytime I try it kicks me to channel 201.

You should be able to get 101 anytime.
Currently it has Rachel Fuller and Pete Townsend Concert.

But that is SD not HD. I think 101 HD was only up for a day or two. Hopefully it will be back soon.

HD or not, he should still be able to tune to it though.

That's not only a good sign for your market, but for all of us, as they are working on the PBS HD now!

yes scott i was getting those weird channels also, but they have disappeared now, looks like they are testing alot of new channels

That's not only a good sign for your market, but for all of us, as they are working on the PBS HD now!

Maybe I should have kept quiet with what I saw, as all the test channels are gone today.

But it sure was exciting what I saw.

These kind of things like this are the type of thing I really enjoy seeing.

I was excited to see our locl PBS in HD (especially considering that they are not broadcsting OTA in HD!) and was surprised to see the local CW also up there.

One thing is safe to say, it looks like some exciting things are coming from DirecTV!

Ok was just watching our local NBC and the picture froze but the sound kept playing. I had to do a reboot of my HR-20, all the test channels are back, plus a few new ones I did not see last night.

9701 - MMM - Mega March Madness Mix Test 1
2371 - CBSE - TEST VIRTUAL CBS EAST
2372 - CBSW - TEST VIRTUAL CBS WEST
482 - NFL2 - Active 2
398 - DTV - LABC Engineering 9398

I now have channel 101 listed 3 times in my guide...

101 - T101HD - The 101 HD (MPEG4)
101 - T101 - CD USA
101 - T101 - The 101 HD (MPEG2)

Some of my locals I have listed up to 4 of the same channels listed.

Very strange yet cool just the same.

Let me know as I want to see if this is a bug in the CE or just something the HR20 does when its reset. Did you grab the CE over the weekend?

ok I can see it outdoorhd... but it kicks me over to 201.... when i tune to 101hd mpeg4 version it shows for a split second then it kicks me to 201. which is the only 101 im seeing.

The 101 MPEG4 HD does look good, I have been able to keep it tuned in for about 20 seconds before it goes to 201. Can't wait to see them launch it in full MPEG4 HD.
