I created an Excel file that is a custom made complete Spring Training 2008 schedule of TV games only.

If you have Sports Pack, or are thinking of adding it for March to watch the fun before opening day, this is for you!

The file is sorted by date. You can also sort by "Broadcasting Team" to see your team's broadcasts.
Then, turn broadcasting team back to all. Now change "Opponent" to your team.
You can see ALL games that your team plays that are televised by oppossing networks!

This is great if you are interested in a key team or two. If you watch the whole league - then just leave it sorted by date

I've got the Dish channel numbers on the right as well.

Last year - a few games were blacked out, but in general spring training games should be available provided you have the sports pack.
If you like baseball, or want extra games as your team warms up opening day, pony up the $6 for March (and then $5 to turn it back off)!

Let me know any feedback or if you find this useful. I may do it again next year. I know I will use it :D

As of now, there are no game schedues for spring TV for the A's, Nationals, & Orioles.

If I find these, or someone else does, let me know so I can add them.

I thought all the spring training games were blacked out on Dish last year??? I remember trying to watch any game I could find on the sports pack and they were blacked out. I hope they let us watch them this year!? It's silly blacking out spring training games because you can't buy a package or anything to get them anyway...

Everybody write MLB and Dish and tell them we don't want spring training games blacked out!!! Maybe if we complain enough, we can get the blackout lifted. Directv lets you see them I believe, why can't Dish?

Yes they were. Even the replays of them were blacked out. I expect the same this year.

Sorry if that's the case. I have Directv and last year only a couple were blacked out, mostly SNY and STO if I remember right.

I figured Dish would be the same.

There is nothing in the MLB blackout policies that would restrict the majority of spring training. If Dish is blocking all of them, then it is simply them being lazy and not changing the restrictions from the regular season.

I did watch 90% of the games my key teams played in last year that were televised, regardless of who televised it (opposing team feeds). There were a few isolated blackouts, but not all.

Again, that would be Dish doing it for spring training, not MLB, unless something changed from last year.

It's worth adding that the Mets games listed on here on "CW11" as Local Broadcast Only are avaialble on WPIX if you have the Superstations pack. These are not blacked out.

That's the problem with E*, they are not very sports fan friendly. For instance, I live in Las Vegas and six, count 'em, six MLB teams claim us as part of their "territory" (Dodgers, Angels, Padres, D-backs, A's, Giants). With the sports pack, E* lets me see the Dodgers, Angels, and D-backs on their RSN's, but not the A's and Giants. The Padres channel is not available on E*. If I had D*, I would also be able to see the A's and Giants' games. Those are games I have a right to see as they are part of my home market, but E* won't give them to me.

I did a search for preseason games last night. The only games that were blacked out through Tuesday,March 4th were the friday and saturday games on SNY. Of course that may change upon the whims of DISH.

I looked at other games starting Saturday (NHL, NBA) and they aren't being shown blacked out either. I have a feeling it is not updated yet and they will be shown blacked out later this week. I wish Dish would flip the switch and give us these games!!!

Except for the NESN games, I'm showing all other games blacked out now..Damn you Dish, how else are we suppose to see Spring Training games?? It's not like you can buy a special pacakge besides the Sports Pack!

Email ceo@dishnetwork.com and complain now. Two years ago they allowed the games to be shown as I watched some, so it sounds like a Dish issue if Directv does not black them out. They are not part ot the MLB EI package on Directv. Maybe Dish is just showing their dislike for MLB (but screwing their own subscribers in the process).
