I can't remember, but are these the first two channels set as available for Eastern Arc?

By the way, thank you JohnH and digiblur for these reports. :)

So, does anyone think we will see National HD tomorrow or still prepping for a "big bang" next week... or both?

I'm actually hoping for a big bang next week, i have a lot of stuff to do this weekend (like set up 2 sats for 61.5 for me and my brother), so i won't have much time to watch TV anyways.

Funny how the remaining MPEG2 HD channels go to MPEG4 just a few days after the Tivo lawsuit dictates that all 921s and 942's can't be sold or activated anymore.

Pity those 811 & 6000 fools.

Probably just a coincidence. They wouldn't be looking at 61.5 for HD anyway.

The national Mpeg2HD channels on the current Dish system have not been changed to Mpeg4HD. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe they have added versions of those channels to the 61.5 bird in mpeg4HD for the future Easter Arc System.

You are correct sir. Added but not yet available.

Well we found out what they are going to use the newly available CONUS TP 21 for :)

They added seven of the HD National that are on 110 to 61.5 using MPEG4. Are these MPEG2 Channels on 110? If so when is the other shoe (129) going to drop? :)

129 bird is not going to be a part of Eastern Arc.
I know. But IMHO it doesn't make much sense to leave 7 MPEG2 channels on 110 now. They can mirror these 7 channels onto 129 as MPEG4 and free up CONUS TPs on 110. Of course that assumes these 7 are currently MPEG2 on 110 and hence consuming wads more bandwidth than required :)

FWIW I thought the Western Arc sats were essentially in place and only needed a little channel rearranging and conversion to MPEG4. But I only know what I read in this forum and some of that is suspect at times :)

Edit: Never mind. I didn't realize Dish still had HD Subs without MPEG4 capable receivers - DUH.

Sell that to the Dish 500/6000 owners.
OOPS! I must have missed something??? I thought all HD subs had "HD receivers" that were capable of MPEG4. Is that not true?

If not, how many "legacy" HD channels have to be kept MPEG2 until these folks get MPEG4 capable equipment?
