We converted to the dish 1000 for HD programming but I'm getting bad (really bad) synch between the audio and video on the HD channels. If I swich back to the non-hd version of the same channel the synch isn't nearly as bad. Anyone else seing this or any ideas?

I have the same problem. I have had my VIP622 for about three years. I got it shortly after they came out. We have a single dish looking at 110/119/129. The 622 is connected to a Mitsubishi WD-73727 TV via HDMI.

Audio/video synch has always been bad. On a few channels it is absolutely horrible. I see it both on OTA channels and satellite. I am trying hard to remember exactly what channel we were watching last night (I know for sure it was a satellite channel). The video was almost half a second ahead of the audio! That was the worst I have ever seen, but many channels have audio and video off just enough to drive us nuts while we watch. SD channels do not seem to have this problem, or at least the problem is much less noticeable.

Sometimes re-booting the receiver will fix the issue. In my case however, I have a local channel (HD) that I get OTA that has a good second gap between video and audio. I've talked with several people in the area and they all experience the same issue.

Not sure if this will correct your issue, but it is worth a try. Go into the main menu by pressing the Menu button on your remote control. Depending on receiver, Go into "System Setup 6" then "Installation 1" then "TV1 Audio Sync 7". Try changing it to whatever setting it is not set to currently. See if that helps the problem.

my uncle has that same issue... he will call, they will fix it and it will be good for a few days, then it will drop back again... i told him to call dish and demand they fix it ... then refuse to pay another bill until its 100% resolved. i dont see the logic in paying for a service that isnt functioning like it should.

Follow up: 722 connected to Sony 52XBR4, using HDMI, no audio sync apparent. Switch to component from 722, L/R or DD out from 722 to Sony, no problem. Pass DD or L/R to Pioneer Amp from 722, sync is noticeable. Pass component thru amp then to Sony, L/R or DD to Amp, less of a problem. The amp didn't have HDMI input option. Any thoughts?
