Best Game Ever Attended

1999 Goody's Headache Powder 500. Dale Earnhardt spun Terry Labonte in the middle of turn 3 & 4 on the tale end of the last lap to win. Nothing like hearing 200,000 fans boo Dale Sr!

"Duke Invitational?"

UConn lost only twice all year, had Rip Hamilton, and had the same team that made it to the Elite 8 a year earlier.

Not excatly 1985 Villanova.

BTW,

I actually had neither UConn or Duke winning it all that year.

My pick to win the 1999 NCAA title was... get ready to laugh... Auburn.

I was drinking the Auburn kool-aid that year... ouch.

Hey, I knew we had a chance, but let me tell you - the prognosticators were all drinking the Dookaid big time on that game.

UConn Wins NCAA Title, UCONN: Richard Hamilton 27 Points - CBS News

it was Duke -9.5!!!!!!!

Missouri vs. Iowa (College Basketball) - Guardians Classic Championship (2001) - Missouri was down by 10 with about a minute left and came back and won in regulation.

Chiefs vs. Seahawks - 1991? - Derrick Thomas broke the sack record, but on the last play, he had Dave Krieg in his grasp. Krieg escaped and threw a touchdown pass to win the game with no time left.

Dont remember the day but I remember the game.

KC Royals vs. Boston Red Sox

My bachelor party a few years back. We had crummy viewing seats in the right field grand stand. Last row back.

But they were GREAT DRINKING seats.

I remember my one buddy betting another that Pokie Reese wouldnt homer and sure enough he went inside the park homer on him.

He got up later on and the loser said "double or nothing" Pokie did it again and we all broke into hysterics.

Ive been a Pats season Ticket holder, gone to Celts playoff games, Beanpot, Bruins games, but I will never forget that.

1. Game 1 NBA Finals Bulls vs Lakers. Standing Room in 3rd level of old Chicago Stadium. Bulls 1st game in Finals, Michael made the famous drive down the lane, switching hands in midair. Outstanding feeling and the loudest I can every remember a stadium.

2. Super Bowl 13 - Steelers vs Cowboys 35-31 & Jackie Smith dropped a touchdown pass in the end zone that could have won the game.

3. 10/07/84 - Walter Payton breaks all time rusing record vs Saints. Saw him play many home games and just watching him play for all of those years brings back so many memories.

That was actually Game 2 where he made that famous shot.

The Bulls lost game 1 of that series; the next game was when that famous hand-switch play occur.

1995 florida-florida state game at the swamp. i won a pair of tickets and took a friend from work. we sat in the end zone about 10 rows up from the field. but we also sat right next to the gator band. it was awesome baby!!

This one isn't as good as others I've read here, but it is the best game I've seen.

April 9, 2004 - Cubs 2, Braves 1, 15 inn. in Atlanta.

Andruw Jones homered off Carlos Zambrano in the 2nd inning, and the 1-0 lead stuck until 2 outs in the top of the 9th. Todd Hollandsworth pinch hit and sent an 0-2 pitch from John Smoltz off the right field foul pole.

Game 7 Stanely Cup when Tampa Bay won.

Monday night football when the Bucs played the Rams, high scoring, bucs won, it was like a great big party.

Superbowl 20 in New Orleans.

1) Fernando Valenzuela throwing a no-hitter in 1990 at the end of his career when he was pretty much finished.

2) Kobe Bryant torching Utah for 52 points in 2007 at home.

3) Kevin Gross tosses a no hitter in 1992 (don't know what's up with me and no-hitters)

1)....Penguins vs Capitals 1996 playoff, Fights all over the place..and the Capitals coach gets kicked out of the game.

Best Game You Saw LIVE

For those of you fortunate enough to see a sporting event live, which was your favorite?

For me, it was the first 49ers game I went to in San Fran back in 1996. It was for their 50th anniversary, Don McLean sang a verse of "American Pie" as well as the National Anthem. The Niners were playing the Bengals, and shockingly the Niners were down 21-0 in the first half. Adding to the misery, Steve Young got injured and Elvis Grbac (remember THAT name?) wasn't lighting it up either and got injured as well. They cut it to 21-7 at the end of the half. During the 2nd half, the Niners fought back and scored 21 more points, capped off by Young coming back into the game, sitting back in the pocket in the Red Zone, and limping (not running) into the end zone for the final touchdown with about 2 minutes left in the game. I went to 3 other games after that, but none compared to that first one.

I think we had a thread like this not long ago, didn't we?
