This was posted because there was no reference to date, time, and channel(s) in the other string.

What ever your position, you have the means to express your opinion(s), wants, and desires. Even if it isn't aired, they'll know.

Already been posted. Voom lovers want their channels back and want HD subscribers to let Dish know their feelings.

Well, this can be the thread for those who want to avoid the endless Voom whine and talk about what productive information we can get out to the Charlie Chat.

Here's hoping that day (or maybe even to tomorrow) sees the launch of a good chunk of those 20+ unlinked HD channels.

I also imagine we hear something about Voom (Charlie can spin it, but he can't really avoid it entirely), maybe the eastern arc, and Echostar 11. Also, more infomercial "buy a Slingbox/EHD/DTV Pal/TR-50" junk (although I would look forward to a DTV pal announcement on availability at national retailers).

It has become very rare that the Charlie/Tech Chats give any type of info people want. There seems to be more confusion at the end of them. The issues subscribers want addressed or try to address hardly ever get answered or even asked. There is always a stir just before a Chat but mostly nothing comes from them anymore. I learn more here than from watching the chats.

The words "productive" and "Charlie" don't belong together. I hope he gets inundated with Voom questions and not much else. It's the only opportunity to possibly be heard without worrying about robot replies.

Sorry to continue whining about Voom, the fact that Voom remains the biggest topic of conversation for weeks on this board should be some indication that it goes beyond "whining."

I don't even watch the chat anymore. You can get more and better information here.

I just DVR the chat - and FFWD through the noise to try to get some signal.

BTW, what do the oddsmakers have listed about this upcoming Charlie Chat? What's listed for odds about the CC being useful and the odds that the CC is all promotional junk?

Dish is in big trouble, if Tivo has their way Dish will loose many customers. I loved Dish but lately I am not enjoying all their bad decisions.

No NESN (Red Sox) in HD! for the 2nd time in 3 wks the Sox game was not in HD. Last night I called-spent 30 min. on phone w/2 csr's and nobody had a clue what was going on. we get game only then no game! Directv here I come. Paul

Dish relays the signal that they get. if NESN was not showing a game in HD it is because NESN was not sending dish an HD signal.

Concerning TiVo...

My understanding, current hardware in use may only impact around 197,000+ DVRs. I don't have any idea how many Dish DVRs are in current operation, but consider the 200 thousand Dish DVRs probably represent a small portion of the total number of DVRs Dish has operational. I believe at the core of the TiVo complaint are certain generations of earlier Dish DVRs that are still in operation and continue to be in direct violation of TiVo's intellectual property rights.

The industry media is questioning Dish's actions and say the company is placing itself at risk with two very large issues in court today, TiVo and Rainbow Media (Voom). The outcome of these two suits may seriously damage Dish.

Back in November of last year, the jury found absolute fault with Dish and the judge ordered Dish to disable all offending units within 30 days of the ruling. Dish has counter sued TiVo, throwing what ever they can at them, with the hopes something will stick in a desperate and despicable means of deferring liability. They have dragged TiVo through the muck for 5 or 6 years on these matters. It's so painful to watch and think I'm contributing to a company that doesn't seem to think honesty and integrity have little value.

I've read another poster's perspective here, and I can't recall the forum, nor their name, but they summed up a solution in the best way... "why doesn't Charlie just buy the damn company?!!" He would then own the intellectual property and therefor create a new revenue stream regarding income to intellectual rights.

I couldn't agree more.
