I dont know why, but for some reason my DS3 controller will not charge if plugged into my PS3 while it's on standby. The normal PS3 controller will however.

The only way it will charge is if the PS3 is turned on. Is this normal?

Can you charge up your controller on ANY usb source? Like could I plug my DS3 into my computer and it'll charge it up?

Good question. I have been meaning to try it. I don't see why it wouldn't.

Well my concern would be if you charge it that way, that it may not be the "best" way to do it and it'll cause the internal battery to die out quicker than if you charged it through the PS3.

You can use your PC's USB ports for this. I tested this out Saturday night.

My 60 GB model doesn't charge the original sixaxis controller in standby mode.

I usually just plug it into the front of the 622 which is on the shelf above the PS3.
